oh yeah since i don't remember really. updating y'all. i'm.... actually working on a fic based on this. i've been tagging stuff that's related without actually telling anyone on here what the tag was orr what "brambles to ash" was. brambles to ash is what i've named the au. it's significantly more fleshed out than it was, too- currently working on the prologue and other details. feel free to ask about it! i wanna have answers for every question i could get, but i won't know weak links until they're coaxed out✨ confirmations under the cut

- ash's history has absolutely been taken into account for my interpretation of him (not that it defends any of his behavior, which, it doesn't). my ash is.... deeply disconnected from the perceived ideals of clan life, to simplify things.
- he also, despite being very bitter towards squilf, really does care for her (but that's complicated and for another time). unlike canon ash, though, at this point in time, he recognizes that it's an unhealthy fixation and has begun avoiding her entirely. too bad that can't last uwu
- the fire scene in this canon happened differently, with squilf not present, and lasted a fraction of the time. ash finds the three and more or less leaves them alone cause he's searching for squirrel (he's trying to make sure she's safe, but it'd still escalate fast if he actually found her alongside her kids). what this means is that characters like leafpool and hollyleaf are kinda still in the same position they were in before that whole thing.
