Ah the conservative xenophobic mother. I actually really like her arc, probably because it starts in AVoS and ends two arcs later in ASC, it was brewing for a long time. She does gain actual power in ShadowClan as the deputy to her sister Cloverstar, after Goldenstar/Tigerheart is demoted. I haven't finished planning for my ASC rewrite so I'm not sure how her story ends yet. I also want to make her more prominent in TBC as someone who supports the Imposter

In the beginning, Dovewing and Berryheart are basically new ShadowClan members.

Berryheart left ShadowClan after her trauma with Darktail and made a promise to herself that no matter what, she would stay loyal to ShadowClan.

Her clanmates still see her as a cat who left ShadowClan to be with the Kin, so she is desperate to prove herself. Her hatred for outsiders also stems from her hatred toward herself for leaving ShadowClan.

Dovewing left her birth clan to be with Tigerheart in ShadowClan. She had also just left the clans altogether before that. Now, in this new clan, where the only ones she knows are Tigerheart and her kits, she feels very lonely. She had friends and kin in ThunderClan, but she left that life behind.

That’s where Berryheart and Dovewing find each other. I feel like it’s more onesided however. Dovewing appreciates Berryheart as a good friend, while Berryheart has a repressed crush and leans on Dovewing for support.

Their relationship starts to fall apart in A starless clan. I think it’s cool doomed yuri. I’d like to hear your own thoughts and ideas.
