Positive Boundaries.

…’Cause I’m feeling beyond overwhelmed. 

-Do I really need a diaper bag? Or will a nice big tote work just as well? Because every diaper bag I’ve seen is just plain ugly. 

-Do I need a swing? An excersaucer? And a bouncer? I want to be as minimalistic as possible when it comes to things that are unnecessary and will quickly become obsolete to the baby. 

-Will the baby let me breastfeed him and dad bottle-feed him in the wee hours of the morning? Or will baby know better than to fall for our little trick?

-Where can I find an aesthetically pleasing play mat? I really don’t want primary colors and cartoon figures to have a huge presence in the general living space. 

-Anything I should buy secondhand? I’m weary of soft, cloth based things but hardbodied necessities, I’m totally openminded. 

-Stroller talk. While the Uppababy Vista is definitely at the top of my list and when/if we add another child to the brew after this little guy I can’t help but think that it, with all of it’s features, will be a better investment than many others. That said, it’s pricey. And while I love quality, I love quality paired with a bargain even more. What are your recommendations on chic, functional, and transitional strollers? 

Five Children From Five Faiths Show How Pure Prayer Can Be

There’s nothing quite like the open, trusting faith of a child. In the short film “Five,”

director Katina Mercadante

follows five 5-year-olds as they get ready, leave home and attend prayer services. Viewers see the children, who live around the world, carefully pull on their best clothes, wash up and travel with their parents to their respective houses of worship.

How many of us go on short-term missions trips and do just this? Wander around thinking we’re accomplishing something but actually having no purpose? And in fact, causing more harm by going than if we’d never gone?
