a coffee machine, a watch and an ‘ ugly ’ christmas sweater .
note : “ hey dad ! i got you a few things for christmas, which i hope you like. i think it’s time to upgrade the coffee machine and when i saw this watch, it immediately made me think of you, i had to get it ! i searched a lot for the sweater though, i didn’t want to be too over the top with it but this one is just as dramatic as the one i’ll have on christmas, even if we are not spending this one together, we’ll be matching ! i love you so so so much dad, merry christmas ! ”
"what do you think of my jumper?" greg asks the other, a bright smile on his lips. he was wearing a tacky christmas jumper, with a light up snowman on the front. he had a whole collection of jumpers like this at home, but he wans’t going to let on. @atlanta-rpgstarters

Ella sighed softly as she looked over at everyone dancing. She leaned back on the wall, reaching up to fiddle with the rings that sat around her neck. Ella should be enjoying herself, these type of events were what she grew up with. It use to be her life. But really Ella wasn’t feeling it, the last major dance she attended was her wedding. greg felt TOTALLY out of place at this event, he wasn’t glamorous in the slightest. but he was making the best of it, he’d pulled out an old suit and bought a mask online. he thought he looked alright, who knew? he was currently on the sidelines, watching everyone dance, then he spotted ella, she didn’t look so great. he makes his way towards her, a soft smile on his face, “hey! what’s got ya’ lookin’ so blue? care to dance? take ya’ mind off things”

the snores coming from woody’s mouth were the only way those around him could make sure he was actually still breathing . otherwise the pale , drooling mess in a heap of blankets looked more like a crudely-decorated mannequin than anything else . for someone without a home the couches he could use as a bed were a personal sanctuary — it didn’t matter if a stray spring poked him in the ribs or if his ankles hung off the edge , they kept him off the streets another night . it was still a wonder how greg put up with all the bullshit his acquired son dealt out . “ — hm ?? “ slowly rousing , one eye flickered open to focus on the older male above him , “ what’s up , padré ?? i’ll knock next time , promise . “
greg didn't mind having woody on his couch, he was safe and out of trouble here. the older male could keep an eye on him, some people thought greg was naive. BUT he really did think that woody was a good kid, he just started on the wrong foot. greg was happy to help him, only if he wanted it of course. “i was grabbin’ some food. just wondered if ya’ wanted some?” he asks with a slight shrug of his shoulders.

Finally having the rest day that he deserved after working for days at the hospital, missing his girlfriend badly, Daniel decided to her a visit just to spend the rest of his day with her. Knocking gently at their door, surprised lingered his features as he wasn’t expecting to be greeted by her father. “Hello Mr. Prescott… um, yes.” he mumbled, biting his inner lips. Maybe it’s an opportunity to him to have a man to man talk. “Thank you, sir. Would you mind if I talk to you too?”
greg didn’t really know daniel all that well, he’d only heard tidbits from clary like what the boy did for work. he felt a bit awkward about the whole thing, he wasn’t really a part of clary’s life growing up so he didn’t have to deal with all this boyfriend stuff. he was just going to let the boy watch TV in the living room, when he spoke and greg gave him a nod. “oh --- uh -- sure. what would you like to talk about?” greg asks.

‘ hmm … ’ clary pondered on it for a moment, index finger tapping on her lips in thought. in all honesty, she wouldn’t care about what they ate as long as she got to spend time with him but they had to choose something after all. ‘ how about … both ? ’ a grin appearing on her face, she clasped her hands together in excitement. ‘ like, we have pizza but we make it instead of ordering it ? like, how we used to try to make pizza when i was young but they’d all end up looking bad. ’
"both is good!” he says with a laugh, to be honest he didn’t really mind what the pair ate, as long as they could spend time together. a smile graces his lips as she mentions pizza, his mind casts back to when they used to make homemade pizzas badly, when she was younger. it was a fun time, but they made more of a mess than actual pizza. “oh, that’s a lovely idea. they all looked bad, but tasted great right?”.

"don't judge, but i might've been listenin' to my christmas playlist on the way to work this morning" he tells the other, greg was a big fan of all things christmas. mostly it was because he got to spoil clary, he also really loved wearing christmas jumpers and singing along to christmas songs.

greg had the day free from work, so he’d been at home, busying himself with chores. his daughter had texted him, telling him that she’d be round later. so when he heard a knock at the door, he thought it would be her. but a different face greeted him at the door, "ya' here for clary?” greg asks giving the young man a smile, “she’s not here yet. but uh -- ya’ welcome to wait in the living room”.

greg was on his way home from work with a coffee in hand, he was in his own little world. that’s what caused him to almost bump into aoife, snapping out of his daydream at the very last minute. “oh shoot! i’m sorry, nearly got coffee all over ya”.

"what do ya' wanna do for dinner tonight?" he asks the other with a smile, greg had never been the greatest cook in the world. but since clary was back in his life, he’d gotten better and now he could at least cook a meal without burning it. “would ya’ like something home cooked? or we could go into town” he carries on, he’d be fine with whatever. as long as she was happy.

"had a bunch of different kids knockin' on my door last night, so many of them were dressed up as the joker" he tells the other, although he didn’t really like halloween, he always had a bowl of candy on hand just in case. “isn’t that film ya’know --- not for kids?” he wonders.

“when do ya’ reckon is the appropriate time for me to break out my ugly christmas sweater?” he asks the other, a grin on his face. he was a big lover of all things christmas, he couldn’t wait to spoil his daughter. “i’ve been collecting them over the years ya’ know? i think i’ve got enough to wear a different one each day in december”.

greg was glad he didn’t get stuck out there, at least he had something to do at the activities area. “yeah, it must’ve been no fun being stuck out there. hopefully you were with some interesting people?” at least the boy had been found and they could all do as they pleased. he shakes his head with a smile, “that’s not the barbara jean, clary tells me about. BUT i don’t think you’ll be the only one”.

"angela! did i tell you, my daughter clary --- she’s back in town” a proud look was etched across his face, he was SO happy to have her back in town. greg was ready to tell the whole world all about clary, even if people wanted to listen or not. “she’s such a grown - up now, but she’s always gonna be my baby” he carries on.
