sydney never thought she'd be here, going on another date with fletcher. she was still getting over the kiss they shared at the creek, now this. as she was getting ready, her mind flashed back to their first date and the same feelings returned. she was a teenager all over again, sydney was freaking out. at least they knew each other a little better now, things wouldn’t be as awkward. she ended up going with quite a casual outfit, she was unsure of their date location and didn’t want to go all out just yet.
pulling out her phone, she texts him and a smile plays on her lips, “i’m ready x” . sydney had decided to keep this date a secret, she hadn’t even told alexis yet. she knew her parents would kill her if they found out, they seemed to be more mad at fletcher than she was. she knew her older brothers would tease her endlessly if they found out, plus what if the date didn’t go well, what if she was building her hopes up for no reason? she didn’t want people finding out just yet, this was special and she wanted to keep it between herself & fletcher.

it was friday and sydney was sat in her math class. her eyes were on the teacher at the front, but her mind was somewhere else entirely. soon she’d be meeting fletcher, they’d be going on their FIRST EVER date and she was excited, like REALLY excited. her friends had helped her put together an outfit and did her hair, she was going all out for the older boy. without her friends she would’ve been useless. sydney’s older brothers (and fletcher’s friends) had no idea about what was going on, if they did it would only cause trouble for the blonde.
syd made her excuses, something about a family emergency and quickly made her way out of the classroom. she was so nervous, her palms were sweaty and her heart was almost pounding out of her chest. but she wanted to appear cool and aloof in front of the male. so she stopped off in one of school’s restrooms to calm herself down.
it was easy for her to get out of the school (with everyone being in class of course), she snuck out of one of the side doors and onto the school fields. sydney soon arrived at the bleachers, she climbed under and hoped she wasn’t too early.

syndey’s perched on one of the massive hay bales, with a red solo cup in hand and her eyes scanning around the barn. she’d lost her friends, this was the next best thing. people watching. she wasn't a sports fan, so this all seemed incredibly foreign to her. she takes a sip from her cup, unsure of the mixture within as the drink was made for her. it was passable.
she was thinking about making her excuses and heading home, her parents would want her back soon. when she saw a familiar face, she couldn’t help but smile a little at him. her parents would have to wait, “having fun kanevsky?”.
