it is very adorable, but also very inconveniant

Poppy currently lives in my (Elinor's) room, though when she was still living with her mother the owners let her have the entire first floor of the house, which means she's not used to being confined to a single room.

Once we've introduced her to our other cat, Mickey, she'll be allowed free reign of the house - that hasn't stopped her, however, from developing the habit of waiting directly behind doors and darting out the moment it opens a crack.

(While this is annoying, and has us on our toes every time we enter a room, it's actually preferable to Mickey's old habit which he developed as a kitten years ago, also while living in this room (although at that time it was a shared room between me and Cassie), which was to rip up the carpet directly behind the door. At some point he actually pulled it loose, which had the dire consequence of blocking our entrance back into the room.

More early photos. It's funny how fast kitten's grow - we've only had her for a week, and already we can look at her and see how much she's grown...

Today, immediately after I changed my bedsheets, Poppy discovered the joy of playing under pillows.

And then promptly fell asleep.

(The camera quality of these aren't great - today Cassie is in work, and as she is the one who owns the camera and actually took a photography course and therefore actually knows how to use her camera, the duty was left to me to continue to try and figure out how to take focused photographs without using the flash.

These are some of the first photos that were taken of Poppy, from our second day of ownership in which I was out working and Cassie had the duty of kitten sitting.

Hi everyone! This is the first official post for this blog.

We (Elinor & I) decided it would be a good idea to create a blog to document the growing of our new kitten and we'll be posting on this blog as much as we can due to both of our terribly shocking memories.

We got her on the 13th of July 2013 when she was just 12 weeks old and she settled in nearly straight away.
