Here’s another short video–only 15 seconds (like a gif but not as goofy)–showing a landmark Route 66 neon motel sign in action.  It points the way to the Gardenway Motel in Villa Ridge, Missouri as seen on October 10, 2011.  I don’t know what the status of the sign is now:  the vintage 1945 motel abruptly closed in October 2014.
