In your 20s , you are expected to start building your future. working, studying, pursuing your goals, and becoming independent. But when you’re living with strong chronic pain, none of that is possible. Everything that should be ahead of you feels out of reach.

I feel completely let down by doctors and sometimes even by my family or friends, who don’t understand how quickly a life can change in about a year. I still don’t have any answers, and I have friends who have started looking down on me and think Im lazy or that I just don’t feel like doing more demanding things with them.

I try to use the times when I feel okay to spend time with my friends and draw, even though I barely draw anymore. These are the only two or three small things that currently make this time somewhat bearable for me. I try to stay positive, but it’s really hard.
