Nobody of the Hermits expected their Admin, Xisuma, to get into a poly relationship with Grian and Scar.

Okay, that Grian and Scar were together wasn‘t a surprise to anyone, but with Xisuma??

Only after they started being open about their relationship did the others notice how often times they all would „sneak“ into each other’s house to assumingly cuddle and sleep together.

Or how whenever one of them died, the other two were found rushing around to get to them as fast as possibly, typically with their Items in their arms. Respawning is normal but not exactly..comfortable.

Maybe they were also slowly putting together why sometimes Grian was having a hard time walking around too and needed help building more often than not..Have Scar and Xisuma always playfully fighted over Grian as well?

No Hermits had gone on record to state any discomfort regarding shipping. Several, in fact, joke lightheartedly about it, and/or has written fanfiction previously in their lives. No credible and public evidince has been profided to prove there’s discomfort amongst them. According to Doc, a Hermit, they dont talk about it and don’t really care

Tango is not comfortable with being drawn with horns. This opinion might’ve been redacted/changed. If you’re making fanart for the fandom, don’t worry about it, but Tango might not get it if you’re making it for him.

Some Hermits are variety content creators/streamers. Don’t expect only Hermitcraft.

There is a Hermitcraft recap show that airs each week, ran by fans. It recounts the events of each week from every Hermit. Don’t stress about missing certain povs! 

The Hermits are a very organized entity. Everything is in good fun. They are all friends, they all have a say on who is or is not whitelisted, and they have active meetings to discuss matters with eachother. Never worry about it if certain Hermits don’t talk to eachother, or even if a Hermit drops off for a while. Chances are they’re still friends and talking behind the scenes.

There is a Hermitcraft Historian account! They’re going through the journey of watching every episode of Hermitcraft in order of release, from every season. SO no one else has to go through that insanity <3

The Hermits are grown adults. Most are married and/or have kids. Most creators will be consistent with their content but they do have lives and families behind the scenes.

Most Hermits stream!  And they often times will have Stream Weekends, with back-to-back streams they pass on for an entire day. They’re not mandatory and you’re missing nothing big, other than what happens between the timeskips. There’s some days coming up!

Have fun, be kind, and be respectful because the Hermits don’t take shit !

A few additional things that might be good to know!

The oldest member of the server, TFC, at age 61 and an amputee (down a leg) is back and hopefully for the full season! Season 7 he had to leave for several months due to said amputation. His birthday is june 29th, and he just posted his first video for the season! Go show him some love and respect.

The grey-and-white minecraft cat is GoodTimesWithScar’s real cat, Jellie! he and our dear overlord, Ms Jellie, won a community event and was added to Minecraft during the village n pillage update!

Canonically, Docm77 lost his arm in a fight with Dinnerbone. after a fight, that is. He won. he killed Dinnerbone and Dinnerbone nerfed him. He got his own splashtext from winning the battle!

Before Hermitcraft, Grian had an SMP called Evo! the influence from it is in a lot of fanfiction, but watching it is not mandatory to enjoy Hermitcraft or the fanworks.

Grian is legally Lord Dreamslayer (no i am not joking)

Ethoslab, Docm77, Vintagebeef, and Bdoubleo100 were all part of one of the FIRST EVER minecraft SMP series, Mindcrack. At the very least one of the first ever to get popular. It is thanks to Mindcrack that a multitude of SMPs started, along with them, people’s careers.

Ethoslab has one of the longest running Single Player Minecraft Lets Plays, having been in the same world for about 10 years now.

I’m still going to ship him, and here’s why.

The fandom spaces I operate (tumblr and Ao3) are secluded. There is pretty much zero chance of Impulse seeing the ship content I make or enjoy unless he looks for it intentionally.

The phrasing of “yeah probably best to avoid that” is vague, and could mean anything. Sure, he could mean we should avoid shipping, but it could also mean he wants people to avoid talking about shipping to him.

When Impulse became famous, he exchanged a bit of his privacy for it. By letting us enjoy his character, he gave up a bit of control. That’s something that happens to every famous character or person, be they a celebrity, historical figure, or youtuber. While I do not support showing ship material to Impulse, I think he can handle having the vaguest inkling that it exists.

Hermitcraft is my current Special Interest, and I’m not giving up shipping (an important part of that interest) because one person who is not affected by my behavior said something incredibly vague.

See, it’s interesting that you bring up consent here, because I don’t think shipping someone, even if they don’t like to be shipped, is in itself a violation of consent. Let me use a metaphor to express it:

If I have a crush on someone, I need their consent to kiss them, go on a date with them, et cetera. If I want to do something involving them, I need their permission. But if I want to daydream about them, talk to my friends about how lovely they are, doodle our initials together, etc, I don’t. That doesn’t involve them, and they have no way of knowing or caring if I do those things. Even if my crush turns me down, I’m not violating them by continuing to have romantic feelings for them, as long as I don’t force it upon them.
