Weāre introduced to Diaspro in episode 17 of season 1 where she attends the Red Fountainās student showcase.
She wears a cream dress with red inner lining and a high, open collar. The bodice/corset is diamond shaped and burgundy in colour. The sleeves are mutton style and feature elongated, slit cuffs that drape across her wrist. She also wears burgundy mini boots, silver coil jewelry and a lavender cape with fur trim.
The immediate impression is upperclass and elegant. Her structured dress with a stiff collar and puffed sleeves are reminiscent of old royalty clothing, very fitting for a soon-to-be princess. The warm white, both bridal and clean show that she is prim, proper and perfect. She doesnāt need to worry about potential stains because Diaspro doesnāt need to be practical. The length of her sleeves and skirt adds to this as the fabric trails after her every move.
The red lining, which shows off her aristocratic background, is also red.
Love, āheart on her sleeveā Diaspro is wanting of Skyās love and affection.
Blood, Diaspro is hurting. Her upperclass life also comes with its own problems. She was promised a good life if she obeyed the rules given to her. Be the perfect woman, the ideal princess and a good bride. The wounds she bears are
To further this, her high collar and fur-lined cape create a barrier between her and others.
In this scene Diaspro is peering out from her ābubbleā to look at Bloom. Sheās guarded, but not scared.
Her eyeshadow which is seen in this shot is gold. Itās luxurious, itās a sign of wealth and right now thatās how she views the world. The things that affect her are linked to status and money.
Whatās more is the neckline of her corset, a sharp point at her throat. The garment has a seam down the middle, reminiscent of a knightās chest plate Her life isnāt effortless, it isnāt safe and sheās snared into it.
Her silver jewelry, while light, is coiling around her forearms in an almost predatory way. Perhaps another sign of the restrictive nature she lives in. The choker around her neck matches in design, but the metal spirals meet in the front, almost like a kiss.
Her headband features a three-pronged crown in the centre, clearly stating her place among royalty. In her hair is also a paisley shaped jewel, which serves as both a status symbol and a hint towards her powers as the fairy of gemstones.
In season 3, Diaspro attends the ball held in honor of Eraklyonās 1000 year anniversary. She wears a form-fitting, layered, floor-length gown with metal detailing on the neck and collarbone. The split sleeves are pink while the rest is red. She wears matching detached cuffs that cover her hands.
She wears this ensemble after accepting a deal with Valtor, spurred on by her jealousy of Bloomās relationship with Sky. Itās a lot less structured than her usual outfit, as if Diaspro had been stripped of her poise. The dress is romantic, delicate and soft. The layers are her only form of protection, piled on unlike her previous casual dress. Sheās insecure but she doesnāt have the same means as before to reassure herself. Sheās no longer the fiancĆ©e.
The red is softer and less imposing, now with pink accents, itās the romance she wants to rekindle with Sky and sheās showing just what it could be.
Her cuffs are elegant and resemble fingerless gloves, which might be another form of protection sheās given herself.
The metallic detailing direct your eye to the red gem at the centre of her chest, almost like a heart. This is another hint at her motivation, love, and the metal grows from this point and anchors her.
She also sports her old headband, Diaspro hasnāt changed her perspective since we first saw her. She still wants Sky and she still wants to be the princess of Eraklyon.
I love Diasproās design, not just because itās symbolic but also because itās stylish 10/10 would wear myself!
