sex and sexualization are two different things. in fact, i'd say theyre convergent evolution. when people say "sex sells", what sells isnt actual sex. advertisers are absolutely terrified of actual sex. sexualization is what sells. the untouchable fantasy. the act of saying something sexual, or exposing a perfectly preened body part. but there's no actual sex there. because sex comes from a physical desire and sexualization comes from a flat plane. to objectify something and to have actual sexual desire for it is not the same. sex is messy and animalistic and these are the two things sexualization hates the most. in sexualization everyone is sexy but no one is horny. they are idealogically pure in the hands of advertisers. no hair, no sweat, no folds of flesh, sexualization is about dolls or mannequins, not human beings. its about seperating us from our mammal bodies and trying to make the body plastic and showing less signs of life
