I love drawing Julie so much, she's kind of become my favorite out of the cast!! Thanks to her my art has improved, but that doesn't mean Wally didn't help either!

The idea: wally and Barnaby decide to have a little stargaze for the night, and lucky for them there's a shooting star so Barnaby told wally to make a wish. I think wally would be the type two say his wish out loud in his usual talking voice, just for Barnaby to tell him, that's not how this wish works. Either he wish for (new neighbor or maybe a friend) then that's when his wish comes true.
Huck showed me a video where Wally was in a rap battle, and I had no idea Wally could do all that. Another thought came through that Said, “This is worth all those Sleepless Nights!!!”

Though not a neighbor, Thievy Thievens is one of the many recurring guests of Welcome Home, and the sneakiest at that. There's no guessing where this cat burglar will jump next.
Whether over a fence, into a chimney, or through a window, he's always looking to expand his precious collection of trinkets, baubles, knickknacks, doodads, and gewgaws.
From recently uncovered concept art, Thievy hailed from a family of criminal masterminds who specialized in a particular crime, with Thievy specializing in thievery. However, it is unclear if these concepts were finalized.
Little is known about his character, as he has yet to appear in any of the uncovered scripts, but, given he was a recurring antagonist, it can be assumed he was tenacious, mischievous, cunning, and deceitful.

Why isn't Thievy a neighbor?
Thievy doesn't live in the neighborhood! He only visits when he needs to lie low for a few days, as he's an escaped convict.
At night, he'll break into one of the neighbors' homes, borrow a few pillows, blankets, or quilts, and sleep on the floor (below is a quick sketch of Thievy sleeping on Julie's rug).
Where does Thievy live?
Thievy didn't live anywhere. Since he's constantly on the run, he doesn't feel comfortable settling anywhere for an extended period of time, let alone indefinitely. However, I did make a quick sketch (emphasis on quick and sketch) of what his house could look like were he a resident of the neighborhood.
What about Thievy's family?
I have no idea (• ▽ •;) I've thought and thought about how to develop his family and have yet to come up with anything I'm satisfied with. I don't even know if I want him to have a family!
What species is Thievy? A cat? A human?
Though he does lean heavily into his feline characteristics, he's a mysterious creature, neither human nor animal. Just something in-between.

Thievy was conceptualized shortly after the launch of the Welcome Home website (I believe in 2022). Between 2022 and 2023, I worked on developing his design, backstory, and character. Below is the first of his designs that I finalized.
As you see, not much has changed.
When I began reworking his character a few months ago, I looked to antagonists from sixties and seventies cartoons for inspiration, such as Dick Dastardly, Snidely Whiplash, and Boris Badenov, which not only helped me understand how antagonists were portrayed back then, but helped me help Thievy develop more of a fashion sense!
It wasn't until after I settled on a design, though, that I realized there were some unintentional inspirations as well, such as the Hamburglar, Disney's interpretation of Cheshire Cat, a photoshoot of Grace Jones and the Chamber Brothers, and even the cover of Mary J. Blige's album "My Life."

Since burglars, robbers, and such are commonly depicted with striped outfits, I decided to make his outfit look like he took his prison uniform and spiced it up to give it more personality, to make it more him, though, in actuality, the fabric used to make his prison pants flared (fabric which was taken from Frank and Julie's reporter outfits) and the two pockets on his prison coat (the left being taken from Eddie's beta design and the right being taken from Sally's front overall dress pocket) were to bring more color into his monochromatic design to make him fit in more with the rest of the cast.
