Tanto gentile e tanto onesta pare La donna mia quand’ella altrui salute Ch’ogne lingua deven tremando muta, E li ochi no l’ardiscon di guardare.
So gentle and so virtuous she appears, My lady, when greeting other people That every tongue tremblingly grows silent, And eyes do not dare gaze upon her, She passes by, hearing herself praised, Graciously clothed with humility, And she appears to be a creature who has come From heaven to earth to show forth a miracle.
She shows herself so pleasing to her beholders, That she gives through the eyes a sweetness to the heart, Which no one can understand who does not feel it; And it appears that from her lip moves A tender spirit full of love, Which says again and again to the soul: “Sigh”
–Dante Alighieri

If you ever feel bad about your own writing, just remember that one of the world’s most well-known works of classic literature is self-insert fanfiction where the author hangs out with his favorite poet and is guided on his journey of discovery by a Manic Pixie Dream Girl version of a woman he met twice.
Also everybody who ever pissed him off is in Hell.

Evelyn Paul’s Vita Nuova. 1916.
The numerologist
He loves the numerology and he has an attachment to the number 3 and the 9 numbers of divine nature and he uses them for his compositions!
He says he met Beatrice when he was 9 years old.
His second meeting with her was when he was 18 years old.
He invented la terza rima, the rhyme he uses in La Commedia consist on stanzas of 3 verses rhymed this way ABA, BCB, CDC…blahblahblah
La Commedia has 100 chants and you’re going to say, hold your tits that’s not a number related with the fucking 3 or 9 numbers!! He has an introductory chant to hell, and hell had 33 chants, the same for Paradico and Purgatorio.
There are lots of trinities mentioned inside La Commedia, God -father son and holy spirit-, Lucifer -the father son and holy spirit anti-thesis-, Dante -father[Virgilio], Son [himself], Holy Spirit [Beatrice]- The bests that he finds in the “Selva Oscura”
He puts 9 circles into the inferno
Paradiso owns 9 levels
For him human beings had was composed by 3 natures divine, animal and vegetable nature [yes and you’re a potato!! *ahem*]
And we can find lots and lots of things he connects with the number 3 or 9, he’s awesome!!
With a small smile on her face she nodded her head slipped off of his lap and gave a small courtesy before she turned to leave, changing her dress into something tattered and dirty. Once outside, she felt her powers weakening, which she had expected because Legolas wasn’t near by…but it worked perfectly for her plan. Casting one last spell, a spell of concealment over her ring she Called Idreal to her and headed towards the Pelennor Fields.
Once they where near the city, the rest was pretty much simple. Her ounces called allies were easily deceived and took her to Elessar. He and the wizard were so quick to help her, and asked fore for help as soon as she was able. After a few weeks of playing dumb or giving false informations they finally started to share their plans with her.
It was evening when he entered the dark room again. The lamb had already been prepared. In a quick gesture, he cut its throat and let the blood fill a bowl - warm and thick. When the bowl was filled, he started chanting above it, expecting to contact Edeneth soon.
<3 omg!! this Dante is Awesome!
If you insult Christ or the Catholic faith in front of him he would frown then his eyebrows will arch and he will chuckle imagining a place in hell for you
