This is sort of the definitive track for the album I suppose, title track and all. I wrote it in Brooklyn and I was trying to get to the heart of what it felt like when my partner and I were apart. It's sort of like a feeling of inertia where you don't know which way is up. Things between the two of you move slowly, whilst the world around you remains in perpetual hyper motion. There's this anxiety that comes with feel like you're stuck in slow mo. I was also thinking about how important images are when you're dealing with the absence of someone you love, our lives already revolve around ever changing images, morphing and distorting each other, but when you've lost someone that becomes all you have, either through your memories of an idealised past or the stuttering Skype connection at 1am. It's pictures which are your point of contact really.
- thelineofbestfit.com interview with Outfit
Here, the pop-group Outfit discusses, in depth and track by track, their forthcoming album, Slowness, which drops on June 15 via Memphis Industries. I discovered this gem whilst perusing their analysis of their song âSlowness.â I loved this so much that I had to share it.Â
Oh, you can stream the song, as well as their entire LP, through the wonderful website of thelineofbestfit.com by clicking on this link.
Morrissey has again shared some political observations with the public in the form of an interview with Alternative Nation. The interviewer asked Morrissey about his past support for Barack Obama and some negative remarks the erstwhile Smiths singer once made about Hillary Clinton. That led to a lengthy, multi-tiered response that involved Moz musing that Obama "seems to be white inside." Here's the Obama portion excerpted: Obama has mystified me because he doesnât appear to support black people when they need it most⌠Ferguson being an obvious example. If Michael Brown had instead been one of Obamaâs daughters, I donât think Obama would be insisting that the nation support the so-called security forces! How can they be called security forces if they make the people feel insecure? Obama seems to be white inside. There is an obvious racial division in America and itâs exploding and Obama doesnât ever support the innocent black people who are murdered by white police officers who are

Already Heard Session: The Early November - A Stain On The Carpet
The career of The Early November has been one of ups and downs. Breaking through with their debut release, âThe Roomâs Too Coldâ in 2003, the New Jersey called it quits in 2007. Fast forward eight years, and The Early November are firmly back together having recently released a new LP called 'Imbueâ with a UK tour to compliment its release.
It was this UK tour where Already Heard met up with frontman Ace Enders as he treated us to a performance 'A Stain On The Carpetâ from 2012âs âreunionâ record 'In Currentsâ.

The McKinney man who called the police has inspired a brilliant satirical hashtagÂ
Sean Toon was one of the white McKinney residents who called the police on the group of teens at the pool last week. In honor of Toon dialing 911 when seeing black people engaging in âsuspicious activity,â Twitter created a hashtag in his honor. Hereâs how racists see the world.

âI know where your heartache exists, itâs when you are alone and when youâre around me.â
Concert tonight!
If youâre struggling to find something to do tonight, head over to the Southgate House Revival in Newport, KY to see The Menzingers play! The Menzingers are an awesome four piece punk outfit from Scranton, Pennsylvania (here is where you should be thinking âAH! DUNDER MIFLIN!â). They have transcended their earlier hardcore sounds from their first LP A Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology to, with their critically acclaimed third LP, On The Impossible Past, become the gritty melodic pop punk band that they are today. I have yet to listen to Rented World (check out their latest single âI Donât Wanna Be An Asshole Anymoreâ); however, I am syncing to my iPod as I type. The tickets are still on sale at $16 a pop. I suspect they wonât sell out, but, just in case, you can order online via http://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/807045/tfly?utm_medium=api&utm_medium=291182. The address of The Southgate House is 111 East 6th Street, Newport, KY. To end this post, I will leave you with my personal favorite song: Gates, from On The Impossible Past.Â
