it's kind of a speculation that it did because Paramour Mansion was the lowest point for both Gerard, Mikey and the whole band really.

the mansion was "haunted" which made all of them uneasy, especially Mikey.

“[Mikey] became prone to panic attacks and sobbing fits. 'Being in that house was like being in another country,' he said. 'You couldn't get cell-phone service, the internet was really bad too so it felt like all my lines of communication were down. I didn't have my driver's licence at the time so it felt like I was stranded on the property and it was miles from anywhere. […] We were waking up at noon and playing until midnight. Mix all that with the fact that I was manic depressive. It was like pouring gasoline on all my problems and setting fire to them. I almost didn't get through it.'”

Mikey says some nights were so bad he had to sleep in Gerard's room. Gerard on the other hand was almost in a manic headspace writing black parade, completely on edge and only focused on his art. shortly after, Mikey's situation got so bad he had to leave the mansion to go get professional help & go on psychiatric medication.

it's these interactions and the implications of them that people interpret as "something happened", i'm trying to sound normal and not like a total conspiracy theorist so i'll keep it short, you can do your reading and decide for yourself :)

Not The Life It Seems by Tom Bryant. The Black Parade section of this will tell you a lot about their daily life and their struggles while writing black parade. Mikey also talks about his mental illness in slightly more depth. My advice is to read this book start to finish because it gives you a whole new perspective on lots of things about the way brothers.

check out interviews especially the ones Mikey gives to understand the extent of how bad Paramour was. later read Gerard's point of view to compare because you'll see that their retelling of the Paramour experience is completely different. if you wanna go the extra mile check out a few things by iero as well, since his retelling is the most unbiased/middle ground between the two.
