âMe? Donât worry about me â worry about that bugger. If it werenât for me stepping in, he would have taken that Larvesta and punted it into the river like he did to the rest of âem.â The behemothâs foot wedged the wooden doorway open, just barely enough for the rock-type to peer in on occasion. It was more so to keep an eye on the clock than the bug-type wandering about indoors. Roy put a lot of trust in the brat, probably out of pity for the wee little thing.
âIt really helps to have somebody to chat with other than that.. 'friendâ of mine. Even if that somebodyâs a bug-type out of all things, itâs still good to talk with somebody whoâs put up with Oscar as much as I have. He can be a real handful sometimes, that you probably know already.â
The turning and colliding of solid stone sounded as the Gigalith slowly veered his head to glance at the wall clock inside. Ten-Twenty Five it read, and Oscar said heâd be back on the dime at 10:30. No matter their purpose of being there, the Skarmory didnât exactly take nicely to strangers lurking near his abode. Five minutes as all that the old gigalith had to chat away before his not-so-kind friend came storming back to his home.
He may as well make the best of his time and get to the point. There was no sense in beating around the bush with what few minutes he was willing to spear.
âOscar is the type of 'mon who gets what he wants. If he has what he wants, heâll be fine and dandy â heâll be working up a big old storm if he doesnât. Heâs kinda like a child in some regards, but donât you go telling him I  said that.â He breathed, turning his stone head, positioning himself until his immobile eyes faced the kind 'mon he spoke to. âSo what do you do? Well Iâll tell you how to deal with him - you give that skarm what he wants.â
âI know, I knowâ The old man swiftly correct âIâm not sounding all too smart, but you have to hear me out first.â
âYou donât up and give into him. You give him just enough so heâll up and leave you alone. Once you start, you donât stop. Eventually heâll quit being so demanding - heâll start asking for less and less of you until it seems like he barely wants a single thing.â
âIâve dealt with his type before. Figured since it always worked on them, I may as well try it with him. Heâs yet to realize it, or at-least I think he hasnât. It may as well be fool-proof at this point.â A heavy sigh sounded from the ancient 'mon, the expression in his eyes remaining straight and as immobile as they always have. Itâs been at-least five months since he partnered up with Oscar, and the crumbling boulder has been putting on the act ever since. He had an almost limitless supply of patience, but no matter how patience a man was, some people carry way too much emotional weight.
It was taxing on most days, and on the worst of days it hurt. But the Gigalith had too much dignity within him to show any signs of weakness, he did not want to show frailty in the presence of somebody whoâd wind up abusing it.
âYou seem like a nice lass - you magpies 'n doves always wind up makinâ life her hecka lot more easier. You people deserve more credit than us lazy Eagles. So promise me this one favor and stay far away from that âSkarm as you can.â
âI donât want to find out heâs ruined your day.â
