The Cosplayer was wearing a gas mask, helmet, armour and bullet belt. He was also carrying a New Republic of California flag. People thought he had a bomb strapped to his back but it turned out to be several Pringles cans painted silver.

I picked up Ultra Moon because I really enjoyed Moon and I was more than happy to revisit Alola. I was interested to see how the story differed, as well as what the few new pokemon were like.

And then I discovered that the ultra beasts were no longer shiny locked.

Prepare to see a whole lotta shiny beasts.

This was a bit of an unusual hunt–stakataka actually “wanders” in a specific area, so you have to run around in the grass until you encounter it. Thankfully, though, it stays in the same area, so it’s not a true wanderer in the sense that it bounces around the whole freaking region. You can run around in the grass until you encounter it, and if it’s not shiny, soft reset. It’s unusual, but pretty easy! (You can also do the runaway method, I hear, but SRing is quicker.)

The pokemon itself is also pretty weird. It looks like sentient Legos. I don’t know about you, but that terrifies me.

Anyway, even though I went into this without a shiny charm, this guy only took 2384 SRs to show up! I was expecting a lot worse, so I’m happy with this! I didn’t even use a synch, so the fact that he ended up with a great nature on top of that is an awesome bonus.
