And it’s another step into the ridiculous when terfs say that it means we want to fuck them, because like it doesn’t have anything to do with terfs. It’s a critique of the way that transmisogyny manifests itself in even those who claim to support us and view us as women. It has nothing to do with people who embrace and externalize that transmisogyny and actively refuse to see us as women.

From the moment David Duchovny shows up as a trans* woman (Denise Bryson) mid-way through season 2, Agent Cooper is accepting and awesome and completely respectful. And while some (I’m looking at you, Truman and Hawk) are hesitant at first, most of the characters follow Coop’s lead and accept Denise for who she is. They never misgender her, or argue with her, or treat her any differently than anybody else. Case in point; this scene above^

Not only that, but Denise is portrayed no differently than the other agents; she’s competent, she gets the job done, and she gets to kick butt and save the protagonist too! Cooper would probably be dead without her! :D

“Intersex advocates are rejoicing at a paper released by three former US Surgeons General. The surgeon-generals called for an end to forced medical surgeries on young intersex people.

Dr Joycelyn Elders, Dr David Satcher and Dr Richard Carmona were the 15th to 17th Surgeons General respectively.

The three condemned genitoplasty and other procedures, which are often performed on infants with intersex traits.

Intersex advocates, human rights groups and even the World Health Organization recognize ‘corrective surgery’ can cause more harm than good.

The paper comes as a new study revealed people who did not have forced surgery grew up without predicted problems.

The French study found ‘so far no major concerns have been reported from patients and their families’ and ‘with appropriate medical care and psychological support, it is possible to defer genital surgery’.
