Always count on John Carney to make an enjoyable film about music. Thanks to the charm of the bass slapper Paul Rudd and JoBro Nick Jonas, Power Ballad is a winner that hits all the notes that make it warm and funny in pursuit of authenticity

It’s a “Rebootiquel” y’all! A Reboot-Sequel. Now it begs the question, did we need a new Scary Movie after all these years? No. Does this rebootiquel justify its existence? Sorta? It’s not going to renew the franchise all that much but it is eons more enjoyable than whatever Scary Movie 5 was. While it can be easy to hate on the film for its cheap gags and faults, it’s easier to just sit back and enjoy a good time. A puff or two with Shorty might make it go smoother.

As a late fan who only just binged the series this last month, the Last Act was well worth the payoff showcasing well polished and vibrant animation perfectly paired with a soundtrack that blends somber, emotional scores with the show’s iconic themes of mental health, existentialism and the power of friendship (as corny as that sounds). You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll question your very existence and come away reminded that our mistakes and vulnerabilities are exactly what make us human.

I really liked the Netflix series but this one off solo film doesn’t have much going on and feels more like an excuse to have Frank leave the highest body count possible. It makes you wonder if Disney just doesn’t understand how to implement the Punisher outside of side roles in other people’s stories.

Like an MC Escher painting got a splash of David Lynch’s influence, Kane Parsons takes us down the Backrooms going deep into our psyche to explore past traumas and nothing can prepare you for what lies ahead. You’ll be mesmerized by the never ending hallowed yellow halls even if the film’s runtime is more fleeting.

Despite its episodic nature, the duo’s theatrical outing is a fun and visually stunning adventure that brings Star Wars back to where it belongs, on the big screen. Give the people what they want, more Grogu!

Inde Navarrette absolutely crushes it with her huge range that will surely keep her in the conversation of new stars to watch

Get ready for fan service cranked up to 11. This time around the filmmakers realize their mistakes and bring a somewhat better film that is funner and bloodier incorporating the gameplay mechanics more. The story might be a little cringe and half assed but the fatalities are chef’s kiss

If you can’t go to the concerts, the theater experience is the next best thing! Together with the visionary James Cameron, Eilish brings a unique extrasensory concert experience that is a testament to the amazing heights her career has taken her. A truly immersive 3D experience that takes you up close and personal on the stage and soaring over legions of screaming fans. You’ll definitely want to see this one on the biggest screen with the best sound system. This is how a concert film should be done.

Who would’ve thought a film about sheep would tug so much at the heartstrings. It’s a wholesome family friendly whodunnit that all ages can get behind. Sure, one can say the whodunnit murder mystery genre is getting a little played out these days but Sheep Detectives proves you can make something that follows the formula and still feel completely fresh and enjoyable with a poignant message about life and death

The king is alive! Jaafar Jackson channels Michael with a near perfect replication of the iconic pop star. The musical numbers are electric, you will squirm in your seat holding back the need to dance along to the songs. It is a bit tame and polished for a biopic about such a complicated icon but a fitting tribute to his legacy

Part ghost story, part investigative crime piece. Damian McCarthy crafts an atmospheric folk horror tale that induces the dread of our deepest darkest fears over the blatant jump scares of traditional scare fares. Highly recommend seeing in a dark room as it’s very dimly lit
