Leave it to Christopher Nolan to take on one of the most ambitious stories in all of literature and completely make it his own, and not only succeed at it but further the medium in transcendiary ways. It’s a sweeping epic of grand proportions that will take you on a journey and blow you away. See it on the biggest screen possible!

Dinner parties can be fun, they can also be utter disasters. Olivia Wilde delivers a highly delectable feast of rage, jealousy, laughter and sadness all within a neat hour and forty seven minute runtime. It's a three course meal you'll want to savor till the very end.

What are we doing here? Remaking into a live action after only 10 years and concurrently while the animated is ongoing? On one hand this is what people want to expect when getting a remake that is already good as is. Don’t fix what ain’t broke. On the other hand it’s stiff as an oar, stuck following in the footsteps of its predecessor while serving as a vanity project for Johnson who wants no one else to play his role. At least it gives a stage for Polynesian representation

The Jackass gang had just enough fuel in the tank for one last hurrah and boy did they deliver a touching tribute to the legacy of idiocracy. The only complaint I really have is that it’s not long enough of a goodbye. I really felt like things were just getting started before they brought out The End sign off. But I will say the boys deliver a gut busting plethora of good times for you and all your little dumb buddies to giggle and squeal together in the name of friendship.

Let me tell it to you straight, Stop! That! Train! has its moments of hilarious gag comedy that have us absolutely gagged, but all those celebrity appearances can’t mask how this movie feels like an overlong SNL sketch that overstays it’s welcome just a tad bit. Now if I were to tell it to you gay… Guurrrl…

30 years later and Pixar still manages to make you feel like a kid even as an adult, and their animation is at peak form here. In a modern new adventure where art mirrors reality a bit more, TS5 warns of the dangers of the digital age while teaching us all that guidance is key and that we all need a little balance to move forward together rather than against.

So long as you can overlook the weird English overdubbing and minimal plot, the action is 100% gore fest guilty pleasure. The Raid and John Wick walked so The Furious could follow with some of the best fight choreography in the business. Hong Kong cinema is back!

My childhood is back

The truth is out there, but a wise man once said it’s more about the journey than it is the destination. Emily Blunt stuns with her eclectic performance and Spielberg crafts a different kind of sci-fi film that is more human drama at its core.

James Gunn really is the new standard for superhero and sci fi action fantasy films as the influence is undeniable. While it doesn’t exactly reinvent the classic characters, it does add some unique character development, fun vibes for sure. Eternia truly comes to life in full vibrancy and Leto’s Skeletor is quite the menacing performance. The campiness and oddball humor will please enthusiasts and cartoon fans but might not bring in any new fans to the franchise.

Always count on John Carney to make an enjoyable film about music. Thanks to the charm of the bass slapper Paul Rudd and JoBro Nick Jonas, Power Ballad is a winner that hits all the notes that make it warm and funny in pursuit of authenticity

It’s a “Rebootiquel” y’all! A Reboot-Sequel. Now it begs the question, did we need a new Scary Movie after all these years? No. Does this rebootiquel justify its existence? Sorta? It’s not going to renew the franchise all that much but it is eons more enjoyable than whatever Scary Movie 5 was. While it can be easy to hate on the film for its cheap gags and faults, it’s easier to just sit back and enjoy a good time. A puff or two with Shorty might make it go smoother.

As a late fan who only just binged the series this last month, the Last Act was well worth the payoff showcasing well polished and vibrant animation perfectly paired with a soundtrack that blends somber, emotional scores with the show’s iconic themes of mental health, existentialism and the power of friendship (as corny as that sounds). You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll question your very existence and come away reminded that our mistakes and vulnerabilities are exactly what make us human.
