Select a section of roof. Press Shift+C and you get advanced curve options (3 points of curve instead of 1, or 2 if you have no eaves).
Holding Shift while placing Friezes overrides the height restriction on it. If its still greyed out from being placed, have one level (it can be a simple as 1 wall segment) of max height on the lot, you can delete it later. More detailed explanation here.
Roof trim can also be placed on the wall section of Gable, Half-Gable, and Half-Hipped roofing. Its a great feature if normal trim is too bulky and without the pain of putting and invisible room. To remove, place the standard trim in same area.
A lot don’t know this surprisingly but alt allows for free placement off grid and free rotation. Hold alt by itself for free movement, or left click + alt for free rotation.
With Moveobjects on, place object on surface. Take object off surface and as long as it doesn’t snap to another slot, it will stay at that height. Great if you want to clutter up a surface but the up and down movement keys can’t give you right height.
Columns (especially the GT and Dine Out ones) make awesome siding trim. If you use an auto trim with flashing, it will disappear when its not the active lot, so this can remedy the issue.
Using the GTW border fencing, place in second floor and put a thin trim on it. Sections of these can be made to look like a pergola. The basegame one can work as well.
Shrink bushy trees onto nicely-sized medium shrubs. There is a serious lack of that size, but with the shrink option, be sure to shrink trees for more variety. Same thing with the little bushy flower shrubs. They look great sized up.
the wall decor corbels can make awesome custom columns to jazz up a house or pergola when using MOO. Because they aren’t on a wall they default to max height meaning they are easier to place.
crtl + left click is a shortcut for erasing terrain paint. So much easier then changing to it.
F5 enables both ¼ tile object movement, and when placing a floor, ¼ tile floor placement. It is multi-functional (thanks @maxismatchccworld, i forget people may not know that one).
