Last day of my hols so managed a few hours on the plot. Planted this morning: borage, sweetcorn, chives and cucamelon. Camomile looks so sweet and we have some baby tomatoes starting.
We visited the Eden Project while we were on hols and this was my best photo - I think it looks a bit like gardening on Mars will look...
Today's bumper harvest from the allotment
Some allotment pics from the weekend - everything's coming along nicely now the sun is shining.

Lots going on down at the plot - and I think I know who's been eating my strawberries!!
The first crop 😋 #asparagus
Great morning at the plot today. Met our new neighbours and swapped some courgette plants with them for some onion sets. So we now have broad beans, dwarf French beans, black currants, courgettes, nasturtiums, catnip and two sorts of onions in the soil. Best of all look at the ASPARAGUS!!!!! Also note the new addition of a skip-dived dart board 😊
Planted some broad beans today. Yes there is still a risk of frost but these seedlings were knocked out of their original pots in the greenhouse by storm Katie so are probably best off just going in the ground and having a chance to thrive. In other news there are trays and trays of seedlings in every free space back at the house!
Been busy clearing out the final 'section of shame' and slowly digging it over ready to turn into a dedicated flower patch. Plus the grape hyacinths I planted under the fruit trees are perfect right now.

Feb and March on the plot: we have tidied out the shed, our leeks are delicious, we helped organise a Seedy Saturday morning, sorting out our compost situation, creating more paths and stuff is growing now the sun is back.
Harvested some sprouts and a giant marrow. Leeks, cauliflower, cabbage and chard all doing okay. Wish I could say the same for the very sad looking peas. Plus we mulched the asparagus - cannot wait to eat it next summer!!
Peas, cabbage and cauliflower seedlings planted. More paths put in and asparagus tidied up - can't wait til we can eat it next year :)
Wild flowers are looking great, sweetcorn finally ready to pick - there is LOADS!! Plus the family of little slow worms we disturbed while preparing to lay out this wood chip path.
Blackberry jam from our allotment harvest - sweet compensation for all the scratches I get when I'm weeding!

Loads going on at the lottie this weekend: cut flower mix in bloom, blackberries ready for jam making tonight, big fat courgettes harvested, summer salads thriving, summer squash nearly ready and sweet corn coming along very nicely. Took a carload of rubbish to the tip and started on project sort out the compost bins - wish us luck!!
Busy afternoon - strawberry, raspberry, bean and mange tout harvest plus an attack on the weeds! Lavender, rhubarb and marigolds looking lovely plus a big courgette flower to get excited about.
