On existence (My philosophical approach)
My philosophical approach on existence.
The question “Who we actually are” is answered by society’s institutions without providing any philosophical background or proof. Psychology for example creates a conformist type of human but also an non-thinking person that has no doubts on the fixed answers of the complex question of existence.
Providing no proof and easily answering the question is just a simple solution for keeping the society active. In other words, if every member of society made this thought and tried to answer this question, the next Monday nobody would go to work.
These societal institutions unite the society with conformist beliefs while standing against philosophy. Even Descartes challenged one of the institutions, as the church was and still is committing logical fallacies what are based on the illusion of God’s existence.
We, human beings, are made up of two parts, the mental and physical part. From Plato to Descartes there have been many beliefs about the connection of those two parts. Plato for example, supported that the mental part is not found in the world we think we live in but in another supernatural world or universe.
Philosophy may have proven existence throught the “cogito ergo sum” logic but will never prove our existence on this particular world (that we live in).
It is also said that the human body acts as a machine. Because it is made of bones, veins, blood etc. However, based on the “cogito ergo sum” logic we cannot prove our physical part because we cannot prove what we see, we only know that others see the same and perceive messages that do not require further “mind processing”. If we take this theory to the limits, we may find out that there is a “crazy scientist” behind our perception that causes us the “feelings”. This theory though, can only work if we consider our existence as the “only” existence. In the end it does not work out because in order to prove this theory we get to a point where the existence of a human being is unique, meaning that there is only one “real” human that imagines every action happening in the outer world.
The only theory that comes out of the conclusion is that all humans (the mental part of every person alive) are connected to a “network full of feelings and perceptions” establishing a “client-server” relation like in Computer Science.
In this case, we all act as computers do when they connect to a network. We have our unique identities communicating in the WAN (Wide Area Network) while essentially keeping our thoughts and feelings locally, on the LAN (Local Area Network). The LAN acts in the same way as our brain.
To conclude, our existence can be proved on the fact that we are able to think but the existence of everyone else is proven by the fact that we perceive the same (even counterfeit feelings) information from the outer world. We are connected to the same (even fake) network.
