Persona Fan selects Hard. he’s not a pussy; he is, in fact, a Real Gamer. on screen, the man in the suit goes on: “And of course, a punk like you, gallivanting around, pretending to be a Phantom Thief of Hearts… you had the nerve to kiss every boy in Tokyo while you’re at it, didn’t you?”
[Persona 5 Royal exclusive!!!] Homophobia selection menu
Safe - Original Flavor Homophobia (Take unnecessary and hurtful digs at the humanity of other people for no reason!)
Easy - Mild Homophobia (Minor translation edits to paper over the deep contempt atl*s has for same sex attraction up to and including homophobic caricatures)
Normal - Microaggressions Only (Relive the true high school experience!)
HARD DIFFICULTY!!!!! - Stay In Your God Damn Lane (Go the whole game without one unnecessary demeaning comment about mlm/wlw that otherwise changes the game in no substantial way beyond, of course, strengthening the game’s core themes of social reform in every way)
unbelievable.
they’ve had the gall, the audacity, the nerve to censor one of the best and most sacred works of art of all time: a JRPG featuring a talking cat that turns into a bus. how could they mar the sacred beauty of the original game by changing it, the Loyal Persona Fan wonders, lovingly stroking his copy of Persona 5 Royal, which is, coincidentally, an entire release edition of the game made specifically to change and improve aspects of the original Persona 5.
don’t they know that removing homophobia from a japanese game would be culturally insensitive, because japanese LGBTQ people and japanese LGBTQ-rights movements don’t exist? how dare they try and take away his god given right to slander the lives and humanity of people attracted to other people of the same sex? you’re just going to make him have to realize that perhaps he cannot bully other people over their sexuality to make himself feel better about his small dick?
no–this cannot be allowed. someone has to take a stand, and that stand is here and now. Loyal Persona 5 fan knows what he must do to defend our country’s freedom and freedom of speech. tragically, blinking away tears, our Loyal Persona Fan selects Original Flavor Homophobia.
“for the first amendment,” he whispers.
