I can't begin to explain how completely devastated I am. Denali's MRI on Friday revealed that he had a tumor in the middle of his brain that was the size of a golf ball. With a complete lack of options, we had to say goodbye to our dear pup that same day. We are left with our grief and a huge vet bill. I'll still be launching #heartsfordenali with 100% going to pay these vet bills, but will be adapting the concept as a #rainbowbridge tribute to all pets. It will take me some time to put together a design, but I will announce it here when it is ready for release. Please drop a ❤️ in the comments if you support. Denali and I have long stood as a force for positivity and hope in the world - supporting various dog rescues and charity cases. Now we need your help, my fur baby has not been doing well and is undergoing an MRI right now to get answers. We've been seeing a neurologist and have narrowed it down between a brain tumor, brain inflammation, or stroke. I want to do everything I can to save his life but vet bills add up - the MRI alone is approx $4,000. Over the next few days, I'll be releasing a limited edition "Hearts for Denali" collection with 100% of purchases going toward Denali's medical bills. **A heartfelt personal note from Jen** A few months ago, I was with my GSD Fox at our vet and on our way out there was a massive kennel from a wild life preservation with, not a dog, but a beautiful white wolf resting inside. An encounter with wolves is always magical, but this one was a reminder of the battle these animals are fighting. I have an obsession with wolves, I like to think of them as guardians or protectors...but in all honesty, it is our turn to protect them. Living in New Mexico, I see a lot of #wolvesbelong stickers from @nmwilderness, and I've learned there are only 50 Mexican Grey Wolves living in the wild...50!!! There are so many things we can do to make a difference, so if you love wolves like I do check out nmwild.org for ways to help. An artist's journal is one the most important tools of the trade. It is filled with their thoughts, feelings, troubles, adventures, and inspiration. I start every morning with a cup of while I create a new journal entry. I'll often flip through my old journals before I create a new painting.

Jen just finished this painting and she is still trying to name her, for now she calls her the Hawk. The Hawk is the part of ourselves that is always striving to be a better person...always keeping an eye on our thoughts and actions...always encouraging us to be kinder, stronger, and wiser. 20"x20" acrylic

To start the week on the right paw...here is a lil joke for ya...

Playing around with abstraction. Some have a hard time appreciating and understanding abstract art. It is all about shape, mark, color, composition, and emotion. What do you feel when you open up and truly consider a piece? Take this piece for example, what color speaks to you, what area are you drawn to? What do you feel? What was I (the artist) feeling when I painted it? What was my process? Just a few thing to ponder as you let your eyes wander across a piece of abstract art.
