🚨 MAJOR BAG ALERT 🚨
sparks brisbane concert (aka best day of my life) was 4 weeks ago today. I genuinely have thought in-depth about it everyday since and I can’t help but get second hand embarrassment by how dead our crowd collectively was. Russell was earnestly trying to get everyone to stand up but at one point he just did a giving up emote because it wasn’t happening.
I was up dancing off to the side but it truly felt like I was in a school assembly. I just really hope it doesn’t put sparks off coming back to brissy 😭

Sparks, Live on the Moon
do the Johns have a fav of the british invasion OR britpop bands? :3
JF: Brit pop? I'm too old for that stuff to be real persuasive, but British Invasion--oh I love all of it. Just from siting the British Invasion, I am assuming you are aware of the general scene. There are certain acts beyond The Beatles/Stone/Who that also speak very strongly to me. For many years I’ve been into (the Small Faces, the Zombies, the Hollies and Paul Jones of Manfred Mann.) In recent years I’ve dug down on the lesser known mid-career albums of the Kinks, as well as the “Have I the Right” album by the Honeycombs, the output of their producer Joe Meek and a couple of hits collections by the Searchers (who curiously came on the scene with their very British sound very early, with hits contemporaneous with the Beatles earliest hits. I have to wonder what their presence meant to the fabs.) And although they pre-dated the British Invasion, I remain very curious about Johnny Kidd and the Pirates (a British band that were the so much the obsession of the Young Fresh Fellows’ Scott McCaughey that he recorded an entire album of covers of their songs.) But man that song Shakin’ All Over is so cool it’s crazy….
