MORE VOSSIE STUFF!!! (@edgeyowo sorry for atting but since your lad is confirmed upper wastes i figure you'd wanna hear about it)

HERE's the section of the map that has the Wastes. the Wastes is an utterly gigantic desert that spans a good 60% of the eastern half of the pangea continent. the reason that vossies from the upper/northern and lower/southern sections look notably different is because the southern section used to be a rainforest!

^^ pattern differences for reference. essentially all through approximately the vossie 1800s the upper and lower wastes vossies were engaged in heated civil war to the point that they rapidly sped up desertification and tore down massive swathes of the rainforest that USED to be there. most of the species that lived there ended up migrating downward to the more temperate forests on the western peninsula.

even way after the war, Wastes vossies get characterized as brutes and kinda side-eyed, since pre-war they were pretty insular and barring any travelers mostly shied away from contact with other vossie cultures.

giggling very silly like. i love that they are green that is so interesting to me…for this beast i was honestly imaging a vibrant red head and a blackish brownish body…any suggestion on what culture that might fit in best? i love being faithful to the source material…and you’re so kind for responding so quick!!

I LOVE ANSWERING QUESTIONS. for vossies the color front actually doesn't matter All that much and that the patterns are more important. having a bright face and a darker body isn't SUPER something that i had in mind, but the closest I can think of would probably be like an Upper Wastes vossie (with red striping that just happens to be way thicker up on their neck and head etc).... wastes vossies DO specifically have really long secondary fangs also. so it would be a bit of a look change on your lads' part, but that is all i have....

alternatively they could just be the type to dye their feathers, in which case they could be from anywhere except maybe the Greatest Bay since GB vossies are on average pretty small. the possibilities are endless! :D

time to elaborate more on the Great Open because now I have ideas for elaborating on

here's a zoomed in screenshot of the area on the map! Both of the bright green sections are part of the Great Open, i just have them marked off separately since they speak slightly different dialects and this map was mostly one for languages. the olive green one at the top is Westmanor and they're busy doing their own insular thing with elaborate horse racing that i'll get to eventually

WITH the nomadic/city-dweller split in mind i CAN say that the tealy-er section (coastal) is the one where most of the cities in the area are, and they do a lot of trade between themselves, too. there's definitely a good job market in being either a runner or someone who flies on sky horses to deliver stuff between different urban groups, and also a really good market in being an interpreter for the Greatest Bay vossies that sell fish in the area....

hello it’s me again! i have drafted up a vossie whom i love very much. they are a big giant beast with a serious rbf. because i wanna write the proper information for their story when i upload them to art fight…may i know more about the cultures of this world? in particular, i was looking at the great open with lots of interest!!

i’d also be honored if you judged my name understanding…tried to use the sheets very honorably!!

JUMPS UP AND DOWN CLAPPING MY HANDS. I LOOVE them....... i Will admit the sheet you used is for the language primarily spoken up in the Northmanor area and iii have not done enough work on the language for the great open for very much at all.... may or may not get back to you on what their untranslated name for that area would be.

HOWEVER ! for reference, great open coat markings would be color pointing like on siamese cats !!! also i tend to draw them kind of Green. other than that have fun and be free for their colors

ON THE NAME FRONT i would Personally translate "sunrise hides coast" with an extra suffix in there to be "gaasrannayasiinmrewaa" just to indicate that the sunrise hides the coast In General but ! extremely valiant attempt at meandering through the spreadsheets. i've been told they're scary. smiles So big and wide

oh wait oh my god i just realized i completely forgot to elaborate on the cultures. MY BAD......

for Specifically the Great Open that's the giant semi-flat plains area on the western half of the pangea continent on the vossie homeplanet, so groups that live there are more like rtts centaurs in that they're either in nomadic herding groups that trade animal resources (meat, leather, etc) with each other, or in settled coastal city areas where most of their dietary income is fish from Greatest Bay vossies.

i haven't done a super amount of work with them yet so you're free to make some stuff up based on what little i have !! i give you my blessing.
