i will never forgive how people reacted to humanz by gorillaz

i can understand when people say "it's lacking 2D/damon vocals". that's understandable, though i personally never worried about that because gorillaz has a sound that i can recognize beyond vocals. but "it's too political" is.... very telling. up until now you've only been listening to the music and excluded listening to what it's saying. the only reason you're paying attention now is because it's straightforwardly telling you about world problems and it's not in (vague) rhymes to decipher. and probably because you don't care about certain issues that don't involve you 😭

unrelated to humanz, but people don't even fuck with the rap in gorillaz 😭 i searched up the pink phantom and one of the results was "without 6lack". WDYM WITHOUT EM..........?

Sometimes you gotta stop worrying about being the smartest and funniest person in the room and just enjoy being in a room with smart and funny people

I really implore y'all to stop letting the need to prove yourself get in the way of just enjoying life and the people you share it with. I'm using the word "implore" so y'all know I'm serious about it, btw
