When I first listened to hfk I thought I would be in love with it because the badlands and room 93 had such bops and Ashley never disappoints but I'm kinda sad that it didn't have me all shook. I love the lyrics and the storyline between Luna and Solis but the actual music doesn't give me the same goosebumps her previous works did (not trying to sound all hipstery). I love her vocals and her live performances of the new songs. Idk she's so proud of hfk and I wish that I loved the songs :(

Yeah I felt the same way at first, and then I started listening to it more and understanding why she wrote everything she did. It’s really a beautiful album, buts it’s not much like her other ones. I agree the first time I listened to it I was indifferent about it but then I listened to the album on repeat and I realized that it’s actually an amazing album, shes taking more risks with hfk then she was with badlands or room 93. While the lyrics are lacking in hfk compared to badlands the instrumental has gotten better. In badlands the whole album kinda told a story with the lyrics while in hfk the story is told depending on the instrumentals as well as the lyrics-Arika
