I'd like to give you a better answer but we're just as clueless as you are.

We actually haven't released that much information about the plot, mainly because we don't want to spoil too much but the basic premise is that the Sides go on a magic adventure in Thomas' subconscious as a sort-of team building exercise but they get separated by the game's antagonists. Each Side will have an individual section/chapter dedicated to them and the main goal will be to reunite with the others and become stronger as a team so that they can defeat the antagonists.

I know that's pretty vague but I don't want to spoil the fun by going into too much detail, you'll learn some more details about the rest soon enough :)

that’s a great question! we have... no idea. i don’t think janus has been programmed into the game quite yet, so likely it’ll be his actual name. as for the discord server, i think we’d consider it, but we’re not very good at consistent progress and updates, and the pressure from people might get to be a little much.

We're sorry to hear that but we've decided not to include a pacifist route in the game. There are several reasons for this:

First of all, we decided early on that the game would be a linear story, so no multiple endings or possibilities of branches in the story. Including a pacifist route would therefore have no impact on the story since the ending will always stay the same, no matter what.

So instead, we decided to give the specific Sides different ways to approach a battle that corresponds best to their personality. For example, Patton will in fact be able to end a battle peacefully, while other characters might not. These different approaches will play an important role in their corresponding chapters of the game and will therefore have a larger impact than simply including different routes for all of them.

Another reason is that we simply don't want to draw too many parallels to games like Undertale. We've already seen lots of comments comparing our game to Undertale, most likely because of the art style, and while I personally love Undertale and many others from our team probably do as well, it's simply not what we're trying to do. We want to tell our own story in a way that we feel fits the canon depictions of the characters best.

Sorry for the long reply but I wanted to explain in detail why we decided not to include this as an option. I would've loved to give you a more positive answer to your question but we've thought about this for a long time and I hope that you can accept our decision.
