I updated the background images on my photography home page with photos from most recent project many of which I haven’t posted here yet. I love what this effect does to them so much that I created an extra long scroll down from the top of my page to my image gallery so visitors can enjoy without any visual obstructions. Here I sped up the transitions just a little so all the images could all fit into this video. The audio is an idea I recorded a while back with my guitar running through loads of effects. Foxtail - Nature’s neatly organized seed distributing arrow heads, also known as Spear Grass. Invasive to the U.S. it’s most common in California. The little spears are so good at their job they have been known to kill dogs by getting under their skin or in their noses causing infections etc. so be careful with your pets around it. This elegant and highly effective design looks great in the right light though. When the birch trees outside my place had to be cut down a few years ago I was saddened as I’ve always loved the look of their bark. I saved a few stumps and branches thinking I could do something creative with them and here are some results. These were inspired by the lighting I would see at outdoor festivals which were some of my favorite photo gigs to shoot. One more set of my Red Tiger Abutilon in celebration of the first day of Spring and of Iceland’s new baby volcano! I love how minimal and classy the growth pattern of this plant is and how the flowers look like little lanterns made of lava. It’s just a short thin inconspicuous tree until the flowers pop and I love that from a distance they look like X-Mas ornaments! I’ve been growing this one since it was less than 2ft tall and now it’s at least 9! I’m not sure how tall they can get but I haven’t seen one taller than this. More flowers in celebration of the first day of Spring. Taken in my patio garden last summer, one of the prettiest strains I’ve grown, I present to you Napali Pink! According to Dark Heart Nursery that provided the clone I picked up at Berkeley Patients Group, this strain was bred on Kauai using old school Hawaiian genetics. The bright pink pistols really make it stand out and the smell of mango and passion fruit is something else! I love the tropical flavors and sativa dominant effects! Also pictured are a couple of portraits of my biggest garden guardian.
