When it comes to the events POST-UNOVA, HILDA can’t really say that her experience was absolutely traumatizing as others would believe. The thought of nearly being killed by someone like GHETSIS or her encounters with N and TEAM PLASMA doesn’t scar her due to what’s possible every day. Her world of POKEMON has always confronted her and other people who aren’t even trainers with the risk of being killed by wild POKEMON. Instead, the way she sees her journey is more of a learning experience where she can have the capability to grow. The world itself is not safe nor is it pleasant but she’s reckless and determined enough to stick with her ideal: UNDERSTANDING COMES FROM ACTIONS, NOT WORDS. She doesn’t need to have a world that’s absolutely safe nor will she take the events that happened in her POKEMON journey like something to be frightful of. 

Besides, HILDA has her own issue with how clumsy she can be and even that kind of problem wasn’t enough to hold her back from her journey. This was due to her MOM being protective as well as HILDA’S embarrassment getting the best of her. The fact that she grew up to venture on her journey and her friend’s support were enough to make her not feel alone.

    Across from our bench,  Lucario sits crossed legged, meditating on previous battles, much like his trainer.  Munchlax has already finished his portion of our lunch and has moved on to searching through his fur for any elements of his hoard he may have forgotten.  For the miniature gourmand, a decent meal is all he needs to be happy.  Winning or losing in a battle hardly means anything to him.  I can’t help but wonder what that must be like, to have such a single driving concern one can find contentment in so easily.

    My partner’s equivalent of a Wake-Up Slap is enough to shake me from my navel gazing.

    “Hm?  Oh.  Well, you know me, Hilda.  Man of few words and all.”

    We’ve stopped here in Lacunosa town for a much needed break after the intense battles we’ve had on the way here.  On the east coast of the region, the trainer’s here aren’t restricted by League regulations.  They use plenty of Pokemon non-native to Unova, all of which are far stronger than any of the Pokemon I faced earning my badges.  I knew the League was structured in a fashion to provide appropriate levels of challenge to help new trainers grow… but it finally hit me how much everyone was holding back.  We’re going to need to get so much stronger before I even think of going back to challenge the Four again.

    Of course, leave it to my effervescent partner here to take it all in stride.

    “I’ve just… been thinking.  These people we’ve been battling… they’ve shown just how far we still have to go as trainers, y’know?”

     Already quick to grow worried about things, she knew that stare to drive some troubling thoughts into mind. HILDA felt they weren’t in danger when it comes to their previous battles but some proved a little difficult. Gazing forward her EMBOAR who munches the meal before him, a smile fades away to remember their journey together. Things were rough like any adventure should be...offering new challenges for every UNOVA trainer. Even she saw their path was going to become difficult along the way, making their partnership all the worthwhile. Reluctant to immediately step away, a gentle hand takes hold of his with blue hues softening up through an intent stare. She wanted to assure there isn’t anything to be kept secret between them.

“Oh man this is good stuff, I’m having a champion of a time.” it was more force of habit then actual needing to say that, but stuffing his face with Unova style chips while on a business trip is the way to go. Alas it will burn in the bottomless energy pit that is Leon.

    Snow crunches under Touya’s feet as he walks along the rarely traveled path within Pledge Grove. As a small child he always visited this place with his father, staring in pure awe at the rock in the center. Visiting this happy place after months of trail on his pokemon should bring his normally happy spirit back from its sadden state. The moment he approaches the stone Touya stops in his track upon spotting another trainer.

     That is odd. Normally trainers do not visit these woods.

     He waits for the girl to turn and face him before giving a friendly wave.

     Soft hums were made to ease the anxious path a trainer makes along the snow that sends chills throughout her body. Perhaps HILDA should have come with someone, believing this could be done alone with her Pokemon. They’re right beside her...no one else was needed, she tells herself. Yet it’s being done alone despite everything the UNOVA trainer heard about the tales. A carved rock carried its secrets and, from the past events, she’s growing wary. The sounds of distant Pokemon filled the air though another one managed to perk up those ears. Along the snowy path, footsteps were undoubtedly left behind that belonged to someone else. Before turning into a different direction, their eyes met together like spotting those challenging ones. A battle would be expected though he continues to stare and offers a wave.
