In my AU there are attempts to create artificial GMO Pikmin, which can actually survive outside of their home planet and can be sold for a higher price. These attempts have all been catastrophic failures so far, with one exception- Luscie over here. Unlike all the other unfortunate genetic abominations, Luscie managed to live longer than 72 hours (the previous record). She was supposed to be kept around for samples, biopsies, and all sorts of other things involving needles and scalpels, but was rescued by Olimar and Louie :3 Now she hangs out on their ship as their weird alien plant-dog/toddler.

Her "smile" is a scar from unnatural development, it's the result of attempts to give all Pikmin types a small "mouth" which would make them more appealing to potential buyers. Her scar looks somewhat similar to Louie's scar and damaged lip... They have the same smile! Quick! Someone get the paternity test!!!
