Sometimes the game forgets that the camp exists and suddenly your just in the dark woods with the wolves, but that’s kind of invigorating. 

The main technical hitches we’ve had is that sometimes the meeting table doesn’t exist for everyone, and sitting on the ground is the same button as attempting to strangle the nearest person. Still beats zoom 

“I just ordered coffee but it didn’t get delivered”  “It probably went to the post office, try rejoining the posse”  “Ah that worked, and oh that also healed my horse”  “Very good. -So, do we know the page count…”  “Was that gunshots?”  “Don’t worry, we got the white flag up.” 

“Can you parley these people, the keep hogtying me”  “Where did you spawn?”  “Am I not on the map?”  “You’re miles away… Let me just kick you out from the posse and invite you again” 

Don’t edit the shared Google doc or switch cinematic camera while riding a horse at speed. 

Since people are asking: you can’t have meetings in Red Dead Redemption two until you’ve done the intro quests in online mode, which takes up to an hour depending on whether people you get paired up with for staff training decide to sabotage your horse wrangling 

Friend invite will be greyed out until you’ve dressed up, gone to raid the bandits, got the treasure map, found the treasure, picked up a job to steal horses, brought the horse back and decided what colour the saddle is. Then you can form a posse with your editorial team. 

A perk of this is that when you agree that the meeting is over you can all jump on your horses and do crime or justice, which is a lot less awkward than everyone smiling at the camera while they’re trying to sign off 

Plus, if you do well in the post meeting, next time you might get nice mismatched chairs by the campfire and don’t have to sit on the ground. 

Also the landscape is amazing so you can walk and talk, and if some other posse attacks they only get five minutes to fight you, which is in effect a tea break except you don’t have to pretend to make tea, or agree when it happens. 

In the first panel, SG sees TG playing on the computer and is disappointed. SG puts a lot of value in the idea of “making things,” specifically “art,” and thinks TG is just wasting their time

So he asks them if they wouldn’t rather be “making something” instead of just playing games and listening to music, implying that TG isn’t doing anything worthwhile or creative with their time

But TG replies that “interpreting is generative,” meaning that even if they spend their time just doing fun stuff, the mere act of enjoying something is creating an experience and an interpretation. Talking about something, dancing to music or sharing a piece of art with your friends IS “making something,” and each of those can be worthwhile and artistic.

SG leaves, complaining he “can’t be an auteur of [interpretation].” Auteur is a movie term that refers to a filmmaker with artistic control and vision enough to be considered essentially the singular creator of the resulting work of art. Turns out, SG doesn’t just want to “make things,” he wants to make things he and others see as “important.” He wants to make art not for the sake of art, but for the sake of being recognized and praised for his art.

This comic really speaks to elitism within the artistic community, the idea that art needs to meet certain standards to be considered art. SG’s viewpoint is really traditionalist, that art need to be “approved” and validated in order to be considered “really art;” while TG recognizes that art can be as little as just talking about what you love.
