Hot Pants as a horsewoman from the 1880s (more historically accurate ).
For a long time, female riders were forced to ride sideways on a horse, because it was considered indecent to «spread» the legs. At least during the Victorian era.
Unlike other women in sports of that era, female riders usually still wore skirts. Although decades after the events of SBR (Steel Ball Run), pants among women, thanks to the popularization of cycling, also came to horse riding.
The clothes of horsewomen were usually simple, usually black or dark colors. In the case of the Hot Pants, I used an actual top shirt from the German newspaper «Illustrated Women’s Gazette» from 1886, issue 5, volume 13. I also decided to keep the flowers from her original design on the suit. Riders then always rode with a hat or a top hat, and a ribbon or veil served as a support so that the hat would not fly off while riding.
