Seriously, who cares whether Kev is gay or pansexual?What would actually make me angry is if they killed off Jimmy just to put Kev and Nicola together.That's what I'd actually be upset about.

I would go as far to say Jimmy and Nicola are one of the top couples in soap. Them two are made for each other, and I donât think anyone can really deny that, even if you dislike them or one of them you canât deny that theyâre meant to be, endgame. If weâre losing them as couple for Nicola to get with Kev them emmerdale has well and truly lost the plot.. lord have mercy.
Oh they definitely are. Theyâve lasted so long, and their relationship isnât full of drama. No constant affairs, no long lost kids constantly popping up. Theyâve had struggles I wonât deny that, but theyâve been very much a team and Iâve always loved how sheâs taken on his kids like theyâre her own. Even when Nicola went on maternity leave and had to leave for a while, they didnât break them up they had the whole thing of them loosing the house but no major break up. I love it. And it just goes to show couples can survive without constant misery
It feels like people sometimes forget that making a character gay or lesbian can significantly reduce their potential dating pool, which in turn limits the kinds of romantic storylines they can have.
For example, I've seen people hoping that Serena turns out to be a lesbian. I understand that people want representation, but based on the current cast, her only possible romantic options would be Vanessa and Mary and they are both way older than her.
Very true. When thereâs not many options, sometimes they have to go a different way and most of soaps best drama comes from relationships. Unless they turn another character a gay and thatâs not going to happen with whoâs left. So Kev being pansexual and not bothered about gender was the only option, heâd never have a love interest if he wasnât đŤŁ
Aaron was called racist prick âvillan of the weekâ because he reported Kammy to the police when he found him with a lighter and petrol can on his land and was angry for his work ethic (before he knew he was struggling or anything)

I mean, most of Kev's fans within the fandom seem to be Kvbrt fans. But they true Kev fans are actually the GA. During his first stint, I kept seeing highly liked comments on Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit from people saying they loved Kev and Nicola together and wished the show would put them in a relationship. It wouldn't surprise me if the writers noticed that feedback and decided to give the GA what they wanted.
Now that is out of character and what the show should be called out for. Our Nicola would never get with someone like Kev or have her kids around someone like that
Kevbert fans don't understand that (I speak for myself) that I hate Kev because he is an abuser, because they sacrificed Robron and Robert for him, he was the protagonist of our SL, because of Chris who improvised everything Kev has become a clown, when I'm sure it wasn't supposed to be funny and now we have to see him again with his apron and karaoke when poor Vinnie will be traumatized by him and poor Nicola will fall into his arms
How anyone can like an abusive character is beyond me because how you are ok with him but wanted Tom to suffer đđđđ Imagine if we all loved Tom, theyâd have something to say because his victim was a woman
They're saying that the writers have done this to pander to robron fans but truth be told I couldn't give a flying fuck whether Kev is gay or not. More realistically they've done it because there's a severe lack of men to pair him up with without introducing another new character if he is gay and it's probably much easier to put him in a relationship with a woman
What were they actually expecting?
If heâs leaving Robron alone, thereâs no other option for him. Lewis is his son, Arthurâs way too young for him and Vinnyâs leaving so who exactly are they supposed to pair him up with? 𫣠Not as if the show had Kev walking round screaming âIâm gayâ or saying he was gay, because they never said he was

What if the pansexual label was another one of his ad libs đ?
He sounds like he wants to stick around so it could of been his decision, soaps best drama mainly comes from relationships and with no other option for him having him interested in anyone regardless of their gender would be the better option
Haha i think the irony is a bunch of Robron fans would tolerate or even like Kev more if he owned up to his bad treatment, the lies and manipulation etc of Robert and then stayed away from him and Aaron. Not sure that we can say the same about these supposed fans are of him now he's not gay and Robert obsessed.
Feel sorry for Nicola and even Lewis and Vinny too that they're stuck with the one trick pony character now instead.
From my point of view even if they had him own up to what he did and have him face punishment I still wouldnât like him, no abuser deserves redemption and as someone whoâs been a victim of it I could never give anyone whoâs been an abuser a second chance because why should someone destroy someoneâs life, self esteem, confidence and keep them away from the people they love and get forgiven? Never.
Save these characters from him, I donât even care enough about them (apart from Nicola) but they deserve better, I wouldnât even want Jai involved with him and Iâve never liked him đ¤Łđ¤Ł
Why are we even being blamed when it was so clear even from the story that the show was all in on Robron? Like ofc kev wasnât going to come back and get in the way of Robron, he realised by the end like Chris said that they were meant for each other. He was never a true threat to their relationship or love for each other at all and like the ep after he left they got engaged againđ I fear those fans watched a different show and are now annoyed the show is not doing what they decided in their heads. K*vbert was never a great love story or even a true love story they were telling, Robron is and has been that for 12 years.
What is it they think the show could possibly do with Robert and Kev after everything that happened? Itâs already bad enough theyâve not had him face consequences for his clear abusive behaviour, itâd be like bringing Tom back and having Belle forgive him and give another chance. Itâs already bad enough how they portrayed it, putting Robert back with his abuser would be even more vile.
Robron has always been the story. It was the story when he was with Chrissie, when Aaron was with Alex, when Robert had a baby with someone else, when Aaron married John. Every single thing and story has come back to THEM. Why not just praise the fact Emmerdale are the first soap to have an LGBTQ couple are thing down the line, their the longest running same sex couple thatâs an achievement

When Serenaâs casting was announced, even the GA was calling them out for the budget cuts asking how they can afford her when people have been axed due to them and they canât afford the cast theyâve currently voted. Making Chris permenant when the current cast are loosing jobs and money due to contract cuts is actually disgusting
Itâs hilarious how fans suddenly have a voice over certain things, but fail to call the show out for all the other problems. Like people moaned there wasnât enough lesbian representation in the village and how they needed more lgbtq woman but arenât calling them out for turning their latest lesbian character into a sex offender.
Or how Bear, Robert, Dylan, Jacob, Aaron, Mack have all been victims of something in the last year, abuse has happened and people didnât say a word. They called them pathetic, said they need to get a grip and even laughed at the likes of Kev but the second Charity was being blackmailed over a situation she caused she was the victim in everyoneâs eyes. But when it was the men falling victim they were being told to get a grip and being labelled pathetic.
And now because itâs been said Kevâs pansexual saying itâs being âretconnedâ despite him never saying he was gay in the first place itâs an issue. But no one said anything when they retconned Vanessaâs sexuality? She came in as a lesbian, had a thing for Rhona and suddenly changed her to being straight when she got with a man and had her ashamed of sleeping with a woman years later. Then she got with a woman and was being labelled a lesbian again. Do peoples voices have a time limit or something because you donât seem to have an issue when itâs other characters or many other problems with the show.

The way Chris talks about hoping Kevâs still around next year infuriates me on another level I swear. Like I get you enjoy it, but people are loosing their jobs and money so no he really shouldnât be and the show shouldnât be pondering to him. If they canât afford characters like Jimmy and Vinny who barely do anything and arenât as much money as others, they shouldnât be able to afford Chris.
The show is an absolute joke. Even Caitlin had to have a short term contract because of the budget cuts, stop pondering to this man like heâs some oscar winning actor when heâs not. No offence to him, he seems lovely but pondering to this man and giving him everything whilst totally disrespecting the cast members whoâve give you YEARS of their life is so wrong. Heâs no Grammy winner.
Warrior Viewers have to either admit that he was an abusive character, and an asshole or admit that the show is talentless and havenât thought or planned a damn thing through about his character. they just pandered to him and making bullshit to make it stick!! Because someone didnât get the fucking proper memo on what this story is because Ryan showed a traumatized Robert to the t everything else was bullshit on bullshit. Call it what it and move along donât be trying the gymnastics now the nonsense is smacking you!
