the thing is no matter what charles does there will always be standards applied to him that are somehow overlooked when it comes to some of his counterparts. if he follows team orders he’s stupid but if he doesn’t he’s reckless if he doesn’t give input in his strategy he should be more involved and take matters into his own hands if he does and gets ignored it’s because the team knows better and he should just listen to them. if he speaks about being disappointed with this years car and decisions he’s rude and ungrateful if he doesn’t complain he’s too soft and he should learn how to voice his thoughts. if he expresses disappointment he should learn how to be better and do better but if he doesn’t then he’s not pushing enough if he pushes he’s labelled as impulsive and mistakes prone if he doesn’t push he’s conforming and not good enough. he has to be good and nice and be the team player even if he doesn’t get treated the same way in return. there’s nothing he can or can’t do without it being twisted against him one way or the other and it’s just insane.

both ted and karun and martin brundle saying that the slow pit stop was charles' fault for backing up too much when he was asked to create a 5s gap and did just that before the sc hit; karun claiming that charles was on the same strategy as carlos and so the 21s between the two of them was all carlos' pace, when charles started on softs asked to drive slowly ?? and and then ended up just ahead of the midfield while carlos had clean air ??; sky italia commenting on his weight and speculating he might need a bigger seat (maybe even motorhome??); sky italia saying carlos is more manly and mature (lol); and this is only this weekend, tom clarkson has been asking anyone that breathes near him if charles has issues with being assertive, the constant implications that he isn't intelligent, that he's losing his nerve or his head ... like tbh i don't even want any of them to be nice to him i just want them to stop speaking about him at all. and some of this is really toxic and petty.
