I just wish to bring you this thought in peace. The quote about the 4yo that was shot, more info is needed to say whether that should be publicized. My fiancĂŠ is a veteran and in one mission he accidentally caused the death of a young girl. This event has altered everything about him. He doesn't sleep without nightmares and is constantly filled with remorse. If that boy was shot by accident publicizing it could cause so much remorse in them leading to suicide. They protect us at a high cost.
Your fiance participated in killing a child and youâre asking me to empathize and appreciate such efforts? You American patriots are quite the breed. Iâm actually speechless. I wouldâve preferred virulent hate mail to this unbelievable display of heartlessness and moral bankruptcy. Inshallah, he and you suffer tomented nights to come, though it doesnât stand against the pain you inflicted on innocent families.
found a .txt file with resolutions for 2013 that I didn't remember making. Fulfilled three out of five anyways, so not too bad.
Only a festering shit hole like Israel would launch strikes on Christmas eve and kill a 3-year-old and still be shameless enough to call itself a âhumane democracyâ.Â
In 1977, a French petition against age of consent laws was addressed to the parliament calling for the abrogation of several articles of the age-of-consent law and the decriminalization of all consensual relations between adults and minors below the age of fifteen (the age of consent in France). At the time, a change in the French Penal Codewas under discussion in the Parliament of France.[citation needed] A number of French intellectuals, including prominent names, signed the petition. In 1979 two open letters were published in French newspapers defending the release of individuals arrested under charges of statutory rape, in the context of abolition of age of consent laws.

some of tonightâs fun from the #hasjustinelandedyet
Americans on the far left believe in aggressive regulation of private insurance to guarantee access and limit profit.
the author of this article i'm reading for class is such a dipshit
you know everyone makes fun of the macklemore lyric of being thought of as gay bc he could draw but like straight girls actually say this shit all of the time with people thinking they are gay because they have short hair. or are a feminist. and like itâs seen as this thing thatâs empowering and breaks down stereotypes associated with gay people, but is really no homo. lol.
"homosexual superiority complex"
Aces several of you DESPERATELY need to collect bittergrapes, they are being homophobic and misogynist and transphobic as hell.
Everyone else might want to block this homophobic, transphobic rape apologist piece of fucking shit.
Yes, please block this piece of fucking shit
I mean just look at this fucker what the fuck
WTF are you on about? not a chance
This post is literally over a year old but since you want to start shit by bringing it up again, hereâs a reminder that bittergrapes said that rape culture and rape are worse for asexuals that for âsexualsâ (or were ey the one who said that all sexuals were rapists, no that was probably outlawroad lol) and when a woman called em on it, ey repeatedly misgendered her and said she had a âhomosexual superiority complexâ
but hey who cares about context when you can post emotionally manipulative photos and talk about how the mean mean sexuals make you want to cry, like over a year later, when the context has been all but lost and the person you misgendered and accused of having a âhomosexual superiority complexâ has deleted her tumblr so links are all but impossible to find.
no, this is totally bittergrapes being victimized by the mean sexuals AGAINÂ
I literally have not said anything to or about this person in over a year or even really thought about em but here ey are hassling me with ancient posts about things that ey know have been lost to the tumblr ether, if not to my memory

bittergrapes tells a bisexual, asexual-by-some-definitions trans woman that she's perpetuating the "homosexual superiority complex" by speaking out against (straight cis) asexual appropriation of LGBT history
+ bittergrapes perpetuating the creepy, rape-culture idea that compulsory sexuality is somehow specific to asexuals rather than being an issue of patriarchy that oppresses all women (and not ace dudes ffs)
The worldâs largest communal same-sex wedding ever took place this Sunday, when around 130 same-sex couples participated in a mass wedding in Rio De Janeiro. While Brazilâs new marriage equality law has not been officially passed, some offices have already begun accepting marriage license applications from same-sex couples. Love it. (via The Advocate)

tumblr should remove fascist blogs praising hitler as far as im concerned
Unfortunately that would be in direct opposition of enlightenment principal. E.g. âI will disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say itâ Voltaire
tumblr should also remove the blogs of dumbass liberals like yourself
Iâm glad you wrote this post, because this is a good example of not noticing cissexism. That is not what she said. She did not say that vaginas are her favorite thing about oral sex. She said vaginas are her âfavorite thing about going down on a lady.â Get it? âI like vaginas,â is different from, âI like ladies because ladies have vaginas.â
One of those statements describes a sexual preference. One of those statements defines women.Â
And if this statement really doesnât imply anything about trans women yay or nay, what is it doing here? âWhy canât gay couples get married?â âWell, marriage is about building a family and having children.â The natural follow-up is, ââŚAnd?âÂ
This was part of the OPâs point: when you say, âI loves me some vaginas,â youâre not saying, âI loves me some women.â Technically speaking, youâre not saying youâre not bisexual. This does not mean that everyone should identify as bisexual - or indeed that lesbians should stop praising vaginas. It does mean that we need to stop equating gender and genitals. It is just as transphobic to switch âtrans womenâ out for âpeople with penises,â if you keep talking as though these are equivalent.Â
Itâs likeâŚthe Roberts court came up with âpregnant persons,â to refer to the group of people - overwhelmingly not men - screwed by TRAP laws. This is sexist. TRAP laws are not gender-neutral, even if they donât explicitly say that theyâre trying to harm women. But it would also be sexist to start referring to women as, âpregnant persons.â Anti-choice laws efficiently target women by controlling pregnancy; that does not imply that all women get pregnant.Â
Most women fuck men and give birth at least once, but it is still homophobic and sexist to generalize about women as straight mothers. This is the same thing. Most women are not trans; most women have vaginas; that does not mean that women (or lesbians) are cis and have vaginas.Â
Thatâs why grrrlfever didnât say in as many words she wasnât into any trans women. It wasnât because she was saying that some trans women are acceptable partners. It was because she and a whole lot of other people went straight from trans women to peen everywhere peen peen peen. Itâs not transphobic for trans commenters to ignore an exception nobody bothered to make.  Â
It is transphobic to forget that some trans women in fact have vaginas. But this is also a generalization: trans women have penises by definition. âPeople with penisesâ makes trans women into a monolith. Itâs like, âtribe that bleeds.â If I am part of the âtribe that bleeds,â then I bleed even if I donât. My individual body has ceased to exist. It can be inferred. My status as a woman says whether or not I menstruate; it is more important than whether or not I actually do. Trans women donât collectively own and distribute penises; theyâre not the People of the Penis. Trans status is not a phallus.Â
And, like, this is already really long, but there are some obvious tacit assumptions here about what a trans woman would want to do in bed, with or independent of her genitals.Â
And this is not bunch of (cis) lesbians getting together to quietly love vaginas and a bunch of trans women just not understanding what lesbianism is all about. Transphobia extends into sexual politics; it informs the way we define normal and subcultural sexuality. This is a case in point. âTrans women are women, just not women lesbians sleep with,â is not good enough.Â
youâre still making good points but also putting words in grrrlfeverâs mouth? honestly your leap from âvagina is my favorite part of going doing on a ladyâ (from a girl who likes ladies and likes vaginas) to saying sheâs defining who is and is not a woman and commenting on trans womenâs bodies is pretty impressive.
I relocated, and missed the tumblr news cycle, but Iâm not making any leap of interpretation. You are ignoring the context. This is not a conversation about lesbians. It is actually a conversation about lesbians excluding trans women. (Talking about lesbian sex like a five-year-old doesnât change that.) It isnât as though grrrlfever was skipping along, minding her own business and declaring her love of vaginas, when a horde of trans women descended shouting, âUNCLEAN! UNCLEAN!â She came into a discussion about trans women to explain that itâs not transphobic to exclude trans women because ew, penises.Â
Again, if âvaginas are my favorite thing about going down on a ladyâ is not a comment on trans womenâs bodies, what is it doing in this conversation? She is obviously making the argument that trans women = penises, and that sex with trans women =! sex involving vaginas. Itâs a non sequitur otherwise. This cis cis-lady-loving-lady heard, âcis lesbians should stop excluding trans lesbians from their communities,â and immediately went there. Thatâs transphobic.Â
Thatâs the OPâs point: if you are excluding trans women because, when you come right down to it, they are trans, that means that you and your community are transphobic. That doesnât mean that you, as an individual, need to go find some trans women and have sex with them. Reading âCis LGB people should not exclude trans women,â as, âCis LGB people need to bang more trans people,â is actually, itself, a cissexist and rape-culture-tastic way to think about trans inclusion. It does mean that you need to read yourself in context - to understand that, âI just love vaginas,â is implicit commentary on trans bodies and an implicit definition of women.Â
Okay I figure I should respond to this however-many months later, because people are still coming to my post.
I really think we may be looking at different contexts because what I am seeing is more or less grrrlfever "skipping along minding her own business" responding to a rather innocuous anon message.
I don't remember seeing a thread where grrrlfever derailed a discussion about lesbians excluding trans women, so that might be the cause of what I feel is being lost in translation in this conversation. Do you know who the OP was or where I might find it? It would be on or around July 29.
Why I donât believe womenâs only spaces should be redefined to include non-binary people as the inclusion of trans women and women of colour is an issue.
"In practice, Iâm always welcome into [womenâs] spaces. And usually, even if I say, âbut Iâm not a womanâ, Iâm still welcome." - FAAB non-binary person on womenâs spaces and the difference in how FAAB trans/GNC folks are treated and how trans women are treated

⌠i just⌠why would you think itâs appropriate to protest a memorial for 14 women who were murdered by a man for no other reason than studying engineering, rather than traditional womenâs fields? like why would anyone think it is in any way appropriate to make signs & shirts that say âdie cis scumâ to go to a memorial???????????? I actually cannot believe this. thankfully this is happening in Vancouver rather than Montreal, at least the families of the victims arenât here, I canât wait until this is over, 3 days to go.
i agree that the plan to disrupt the memorial (as i understand it) is disrespectful to the dead. that being said:
please don't spread lies about this event to sensationalize it further. there is no indication protesters will be wearing/carrying anything saying "die cis scum" (gendertrender just decided to bring that picture up to add to their lists of complaints about natalie reed)
saying "they don't like one of the speakers" is dismissive. to me it's not even that janice raymond is transphobic. it's that she is the founding mother of the reactionary anti-trans movement. she wrote arguably the most transphobic book of all time, in which she literally compared trans women's bodies to rape. despite any of her good politics, i'll dance on her grave.
obviously that doesn't make it a good idea disrupt the memorial. but i would like to point out that this is getting far, far more attention from transphobic feminists and hardly any support (natalie reed herself isn't in on it anymore since it changed from a quiet outside event to a flash mob)
