Yeah so like, I really understand Goose's intention with how Jax was handled but that she was not "vague" it was very noncommittal to me. Like violently beating you over the head with "YES SHE'S TRANSGENDER" and then deadnaming and misgendering said trans character moments after with no one batting an eye. MAYBE the read is supposed to be that she's still coming to terms with it but again, that feels somewhat shitty when EVERY single other character got to live happily ever and the one character that offs themselves doesn't get to have that either in the circus OR IRL.

So I'm a bit mixed on the trans Jax reading. Feels like they're trying to say "YES ABSOLUTELY JAX IS TRANSFEM" but also IRL they're still "Leroy" and still go by he/him and are referred to by masculine pronouns exclusively even postmortem. At the same time "isn't she lovely" I think definitely implies this bitch wants to trans her gender ESPECIALLY within context of the bow scene with Ribbit.

AGAIN at the same time it would feel really weird to me if Leroy was a trans woman and still hadn't come to terms with that meaning they're the ONLY one out of the whole cast that didn't fully get their shit together. Feels really easy to take the song choice plus the misc moments and run away them as a concrete "she's a trans woman for sure!" read but there's some smaller things that would ultimately bother me about that in the end just because of how Jax as a character was handled post-abstraction.
