ok so that whole thing was obviously planned right but can we appreciate how well-planned it was? how well they know us and what we die for? they swapped the confetti cannons at the beginning to simulate that all or nothing energy. they definitely knew phil was getting the fancy option because there is no way anyone would have been having fun if he'd gotten stuck with the sad one (not phil, not dan, not us watching), whereas no one executes an entertaining crash out like dan howell. then they faked and recorded a facetime of phil aborting the challenge and telling dan to come experience the fancy residence with him and dan reacting all excitedly and disbelievingly. and then we got a full crazed hyperactive dani snot reaction to the residence with phil's fond giggles backgrounding it all and watched them eat fancy food and spend quality time together and cut to the next morning with suspiciously little footage of the night before, just enough to be noticeable.
