No money in Music these days

So long for the days of making hit records and gather all the riches that come with fame of making music. Now, in the new destiny of Musicians, don't even make minimum wage. I also fit in this category, but I humbled myself to realize that I do it for the fun it and the passion of it.

Distributors are raising the minimum requirements for music. Good or Bad?

I just got a email from my music distributor. Essentially they now have standards and raising the bar on production and quality of the music being submitted. I'm not surprised, yet considering anyone can submit trash music and Spotify keeps getting ridicules amount of music everyday. I figured this would happen. I'm not sure to take this as a good thing or a bad thing ?

Would these new rules make it easier for artists to get streams by taking out the garbage or would it be more difficult to just to submit music when someone is paying these music distributors to do just that ?
