T-Mobile to help get refunds to customers that incurred unwanted premium SMS charges

Late last year, T-Mobile took a stand against premium SMS charges by blocking all premium SMS billing except when it involves charitable and political giving. Today T-Mo announced that it’s going a step further by getting refunds to consumers that did get charged for premium messages.

T-Mobile has revealed that between July and September, it will notify all current and former customers that paid for premium SMS services and haven’t yet received a refund. T-Mo will explain to those people how to request a summary of the charges that they incurred and help them to request a refund for the charges that weren’t authorized. A special website for the program is expected to go live in July.

While some premium SMS services are useful, there are others that can be confusing and end up tricking consumers into paying for services that they don’t want. It’s good to see T-Mobile fighting against these unwanted charges by actively reaching out to affected consumers and helping them get they money back.

Samsung Galaxy S5 mini shown off in several new photos, also compared to Galaxy S5

Details of the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini have been trickling out so far this year with a leak here and a rumor there, but today that dam finally burst.

SamMobile has received several high-quality photos that show off Samsung’s unannounced Galaxy S5 mini in the wild. The images show just about every angle of the device, including ones with its back cover removed, as well as some photos of the Galaxy S5 mini next to its regular-sized sibling.

The source of the images also shared some benchmark screenshots that reveal the S5 mini’s spec list. According to the tests, the shrunken Galaxy S5 is sporting a 4.5-inch 1280×720 display, 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front facing shooter.

In addition to all of those features, the Galaxy S5 mini is also said to be IP67 certified for resistance to dust and water. One of the images shows that the S5 mini has a rubber gasket on its back panel to protect the phone’s internals.

One detail of the Galaxy S5 mini that’s still up in the air is its debut date. Samsung is holding an event later this week, and while its “Tab Into Color” title suggests that the Galaxy Tab S devices will be the stars of the upcoming show, Samsung could sneak an S5 mini announcement in there as well.
