At first glance, Cole appears eloquent, bold, and has an almost effortless grungy charm to him. But under pressure, that polished act cracks, revealing a short fuse and a stormy temper beneath the surface.

Cole grew up near the shores of Port O' Bliss as an only child, raised by his permisive father; a docile, kind-hearted but clumsy docker (Inspired off Mr. Smee). Spoiled and indulged as a kid, Cole’s relationship with his father deteriorated as alcohol took hold.

Though never violent when intoxicated, his father’s neglect and broken promises left a lasting wound on his son. Forced to step up, Cole became the responsible one, learning early how to rely on himself.

Using computers and engaging in digital piracy became a hobby for him, an escape from reality. That being said, Cole was never skilled at this; his laptop is a cluttered graveyard of malware and shady downloads held together by sheer stubbornness and pop-up blockers. He's especially paranoid about a rumored virus known as "KROK0DILE.CRYPTOR," said to encrypt your files while playing an obnoxious ticking sound in the background. Whether it’s real or just a urban legend, the mere thought of it keeps Cole up at night, obsessively checking his hard drive for signs of corruption.

His controlling and spiteful streak first emerged as a misguided attempt to "fix" his father’s behavior. Cole would hide bottles around the house or use them as range targets, subconsciously hoping that, by forcing change, his father may mend ways. Though his methods were harsh, they weren't malicious. This intensity earned him a certain reputation among his peers, particularly for his talent in magic and fencing.

Prior to his first year at Night Raven College, Cole was a well-known sophomore at "Neverland Academy." However, his school year came to an end with an incident that still haunts him—being the target of a "childish" prank caused by an underclassmen made the boy lose control over his own body and magic powers, overblotting as a result. The breakdown was so violent that Cole almost destroyed the building and lost his left forearm in the process. He was framed as "too emotionally unstable to still attending the Academy" and was expelled the day after.

Now a Ramshakle dorm resident at NRC, Cole wasn’t part of the opening ceremony and thus remains without an assigned dorm by the magic mirror. He continues to wrestle with Grim’s influence and his own inner struggles.

Despite his flaws, Cole isn’t unreasonable. He knows how to win people over and prides himself on being a "man of his word," taking his responsibilities as a prefect seriously, even when his patience wears thin.

Cole can weaponize his anger by summoning blades and swords he can use at will. These weapons are made of blot, their size and sharpness depending on how negative his emotions are.
