In the case someone drops from the event, we'll need pinch hitters to be backups for any giftees!

As stated before, pinch hitters will receive a gift from the person between them and their giftee, both you and your gifter will receive a pinch hitter posting date at this time.

Pinch hitters do not have the option to give physical gifts, or to be specific about what they want as a gift. However, pinch hitters will state what they do not want in their gift along with the type of gift they are willing to make for the giftee.

We ask that anyone who has signed up for the gift exchange not sign up to be a pinch hitter!

Prompt Submissions are Open!

From 7/1 to 7/15, send us an ask with your best ideas for Project Hail Mary-themed Augustellar art prompts! 31 prompts, or one per day, will be chosen for the Official Prompt List Release on 7/17!

Rules and Info:

Using the below link, send us a prompt! Or two prompts! Or thirty-one prompts! There is no limit to how many you can submit, though please be aware that only one prompt will be used per individual. Please be honest!

Please use the phrase "Prompt Submission" in your ask to make it clear that your ask is a prompt! If you have a separate question or comment, please send a separate ask.

The ask box will be accepting prompt submissions until 11:59PM EST on 7/15. The Official Prompt List will be released on 7/17.

Prompts can be anything: a single word, a sentence, a picture, whatever. It only needs to be inspired by Project Hail Mary! You may add an explanation for your prompt in your ask, but be aware that something too vague might not be the best choice for a Project Hail Mary-themed event.

Prompts that are selected for the Official Prompt List will be dedicated to the submitter, with a call-out post tagging them for thanks and recognition on the day their prompt is used! Anonymous submissions are allowed, but we obviously won't be able to dedicate them to the submitter.

If your prompt is selected for the Official Prompt List, you will be alerted on 7/16 and given the opportunity to request the day in August that your prompt is used. We will do our best to accommodate!

Calling all PHM fans! Who doesn't love an art challenge? Augustellar is a month-long themed art event centered around space, astronomy, and all things out-of-this-world...and for August 2026, the theme is Project Hail Mary!

Taking place from August 1st to August 31st, each day will feature a thematic prompt meant to inspire artists—from traditional and digital artists to fan artists, writers, poets, knitters, photographers, or whatever fuels your starship—to create something new! Check out the Carrd for more info!

Again, we would like to thank the friends who have sent in their applications. While it has been a real pleasure seeing so much good art, it has also been difficult having to make final decisions. 💔 If only Rocky could choose all friends!

Hiya just dropping by to let you guys know we are still accepting applications for Beta Readers and Pinch hitters!

Pinch hitters step in when we need someone to fill a spot that a writer or artist has dropped from! Super helpful when life gets in the way of participants and a way to sneak into the event if you missed the sign-ups!
