finished up the dragon I got out of the Christmas egg @sparkledeerfr sent me and whew

The coatls emerged from the warmth of the magma, opening their eyes to the dark sky for the first time, finding it teeming with stars and blistering air that once knew a flame far greater than their own. They felt their mother ushering them out onto the obsidian where their short claws stumbled their first few steps. 

It was so cold. 

But together they were warm and beyond the walls of the volcano was a world they could conquer… or share they thought. How splendid of a world to enjoy with their family, that of all of Sornieth. They unfurled their bodies and wings, their feathers softly waving in the hot gusts of soot and ash, and sung:

Breathe bloody red air

Step out do we dare

Finding our flights

We’re leaving tonight

Thousands of serpents

Our song calls out strong

Together we’ll find love

Home won’t be long
