“That’s a smart idea.” Phinni said with a nod and a light smile. “Just make sure you don’t lose the necklace.”

phinnimackennon:
“Faerie lights, candy canes, cinnamon-sprinkled hot chocolate, and comfy sweaters. The perfect recipe for a Christmasy atmosphere.” Phinni hummed, a mug of the aforementioned warm liquid held just below his face so the rising steam warmed his nose. He was currently leaning against the doorframe of his dorm room, admiring his handiwork. The room was bedecked in colorful Christmas lights - around the doorframe, above his desk, around the bedposts - leaving no need for other light sources. He gave a content sigh and nodded. This was certainly the thing to put him into the Christmas Spirit.
“Your room looks lovely,” she said, glancing into it with a smile.
"Thank you!" Phinni said with a light grin. He'd certainly worked hard on getting the lights to look proper. "Would you like some hot chocolate?" He offered. He'd bought a few boxes of the stuff at the beginning of the month but was only just now breaking into it, so he certainly had enough.
PHINNI.

“Oooh.” Fiona piped up behind him as she peeked into his room. “Sorry, I heard the words “candy canes’ and ‘hot chocolate’ and just followed the voice. It’s, like, a instinctual thing at this point. Your room looks … maravillosa.”
Phinni jumped slightly, having not expected anyone to answer him. But he gave her a smile, chuckling lightly at her explanation. "No need to apologize, that's perfectly reasonable," he said with a nod. "Would you like some?" he offered. "Heaven knows I have plenty to spare."<br/> At her compliment, he grinned. "Thank you! I thought it needed some Christmassing up and lights seemed the right way to go."

I didn’t just buy out the store down the way, shh no, that wasn’t me…
[chuckles] Hmm, sounds exactly like what someone who just bought out the store down the way would say…
Shh no it’s not
I'm not so sure. Sounds somewhat suspicious if ya ask me.

I believe it’s about time to binge watch Halloween movies while eating pumpkin pie, am I right or am I right? [taps a plastic-wrapped fork on the table to push it through the wrapper, opening it with a light smile]
Definitely the first one. What movies are you watching?
I've got Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Sleepy Hollow, and Thir13en Ghosts lined up. Probably more to come, def'nitely open to suggestions.

phinnimackennon:
Paint is the worst! It’d eventually wash off, but your clothes would probably be done for.
Oh, yeah. I used to paint when I was a kid and I was also a walking disaster. My mom got smart after the twentieth ruined shirt and bought special paint for kids.
[chuckles] I used to help my Da re-touch the paint on things around the shop. After a few paint spattered shirts of my own, I kept an old shirt hanging ‘round in the workroom to use as a smock. Never had to worry 'bout getting paint on my good shirts again.
I think I’ve been living in my office for the past week, grading is kicking my arse..
Maybe you should take a wee break, stretch your legs an' get a coffee 'r somethin'.

phinnimackennon:
[winces slightly] Ooh, that’s never fun. At least it’s just mud though? Could'a been a precariously-placed paint can ya ran into?
Ugh, god. If it was paint, I’d never get if off of me.
Paint is the worst! It'd eventually wash off, but your clothes would probably be done for.
phinnimackennon:
Not exactly, no. [smiles lightly] Doesn’t stop him from actin’ like one though.
It’s okay to act younger than you are. It’s kind of fun, don’t you think?
Aye, that it is. But him bein' so energetic can be tiring. [chuckles lightly]
phinnimackennon:
[Douglas yips happily at the attention]
He’s almost a year old now.
Oh wow. Not really a puppy anymore, huh?
Not exactly, no. [smiles lightly] Doesn't stop him from actin' like one though.
“Don’t comment on the mud. It’s a long story. To make it short, I somehow fell into a puddle on the way over here.”
[winces slightly] Ooh, that’s never fun. At least it’s just mud though? Could'a been a precariously-placed paint can ya ran into?
[Douglas stops short when Stephen approaches, tail wagging as he gives an excited bark; Phinni smiles] Thanks! His name’s Douglas an’ he’s /very/ friendly. Very much a people’s pup.
So cute! *kneels and pets the dog*
[Douglas yips contentedly, licking Stephen's hand]
I swear, if it were possible he'd wag his tail right off. [chuckles]

[smiles softly as Douglas makes himself comfortable, loving the attention]
His name’s Douglas. Sometimes he’ll answer to ‘laddie’, though. ‘Specially if he’s bein’ playful.
[chuckles lightly]
[She smiled at Douglas and kisses his face ]
It’s a good name for him, laddie, that’s a good one
[Douglas licks at her face in response]
All he needs is his own little kilt. [chuckles at the thought of the pup in a tartan]
phinnimackennon:
[smiles lightly]
Thanks, his name’s Douglas.
[at the sound of his name the pup bounds over, tail wagging]
[bending down to pet the dog] Cute name for a cute puppy. How old is he?
[Douglas yips happily at the attention]
He's almost a year old now.
