Why do people keep shitting on the Mercator projection? It has some bad-ass properties like the fact that angles are constant which is the shit when you’re on a boat AND CROSSING A FUCKING OCEAN. You know who really used maps a lot when this guy was banging out maps? PEOPLE ON BOATS WHO WERE CROSSING THE FUCKING OCEAN. Calling the Mercator projection a flawed projection is like calling a hammer a deeply flawed screwdriver.
