Phandom Masquerade Ball

There’s this one memory I always come back to—not that it’s all that earth-shattering an occasion—but whenever I try to distill happiness into a moment, that’s what comes to mind. 

i have met a few friends through dnp tumblr recently! some of my besties-

Ahh! Hmm, if i had to mix a fantasy MOCK tail, here are some ideas I’d throw out…

Grenadine, grapefruit juice, sparkling water, jasmine tea, lime juice, blue Gatorade…

So maybe for a mocktail, grapefruit sparkling water with grenadine and blue Gatorade and something cute and shiny on top to decorate it.

Bonus: jasmine tea with condensed milk, boba, and matcha foam if i had to come up with a drink that isn’t a mocktail

okay so FLAVOUR-wise, i'd want to combine dan's penchant for bitter things with phil's sweet tooth.

starting from the bottom up, i'd do a honey mix with [as local as i can get] raspberry jam, ooh maybe saskatoon berry too if it's in season. the density of the honey would hopefully keep it as a bottom layer, and at least a raspberry mix would get a red color; combining this with another layer (preferably green - can be flavored or not. matcha could be a decent candidate but a) idk if it would mix well with honey and b) whether it would fuck up the taste) would give you a colored base. i'd put some citrus peel (orange, most likely, maybe lemon) so that it settles in the honey as well and gives a good mix of sweet and bitter.

on the side (in a shaker?), i'd do the main mix of pinot gin (because i'm biased), tonic water (more to the Bitter), and flavourless black dye, poured down the side of the glass so i (hopefully) don't disturb the honey layer(s). the only thing i'm layering on top to Complete the look (other than Maybe one of those gay lil cocktail umbrellas) is edible multicolored glitter, enough that it's relatively noticable against the black.

(Ok, that was initially a placeholder put in to save this as a draft, but I'll leave it in.)

This one was back in 2021... I dreamt that Dan was my little brother. (For context into how ridiculous that is, Dan is a little over a decade older than me).

He and Phil are staying over at my house, so I have to share a trundle bed with Dan for the night while Phil stays in the guest room upstairs. But Dan. keeps. shifting around in bed. Dear god. It gets to about 2am before the sound starts driving me insane, so I crack open an eye to glare at him.

I whisper, "Do you need to go upstairs with Phil?"

Chartreuse - I HAVE SO MANY. When I tell you these boys have broken my brain, I'm not even kidding. My favorite two:

"Lexicon" - Who even uses that word on a weekly basis??? Why is it such a common part of my vocabulary??? Anyway, it's from Dil's 1st Kiss, Sims S1Ep16 (couldn't find the time in the vid so here's a clip).

Pistachio-flavored things - from "I Nearly Blinded Myself". Have since fallen in love with pistachio ice cream, eaten my dining hall's pistachio bread, tried a pistachio frappuccino... think of Dan every time. I have issues.

Heliotrope - I have another moment that I told Manda @proudsnackeezowner about here, so this is an additional one!!

6. Heliotrope - Favorite dnp moment that makes you believe love is real.

I need to stop pulling a Dan and get out of my head for this before I neglect to post it for a month!! You said it so perfectly in your other ask, so I'll let that speak for me on the whole *soulmates not that souls are a real thing that exist* front. I'd say that doesn't necessarily make me believe love exists, but that makes me believe in some other magic existing woven in the interwebs of the universe.

With that said, the first thing that comes to mind is the Mukbang video, especially that one moment (28:43) when Dan asks "do you ever feel like you don't have a personality" and then Phil gently argues against that train of thought by pointing out *hey, you don't do that around me. bc why would you need to?*

That gets me for two reasons. First, it's that the overarching feeling that there are people out there in the world that you feel safe enough to exist with, without pretense. Without trying to put on a face or worrying you're gonna be judged. Whenever in my life I've realized I found one of those people (and I count my lucky stars, it's happened more than once), it is a special, special reminder that love exists. People will love you and you will be able to love them right back.

Secondly, this moment reminds me of my parents. A lot about dnp's dynamic (minus the um. horny energy. thank god.) reminds me of my parents... but especially this, so much so that it kinda hurts. That's totally something my dad has said to my mom before (and yep! they're another reason I believe in love. have I mentioned before how lucky it is for my life to be so full of love?). But it is such a familiar conversation that it struck a chord in me back when it was first released, and it still does now.
