Okay itâs really gross to search out a partner because they are trans. Thatâs fetishism and itâs dehumanizing. All the shittiest partners Iâve ever had were cis bi men who wanted some fucked up âbest of bothâ crap from dating a trans boy or they just wanted a boyish petite girl with short hair, and figured a trans guy was practically the same thing. They went into the relationship with all these assumptions about who I was and what I would do sexually because I was trans. Then they proceeded to treat me like a girl or like I was just some neutral queer identity that they could mold to fit their taste, when they should have just treated me like a man. Expecting to be able to find someone like me just cuz Iâm trans means youâre stereotyping trans men. I am one of a kind, as is every other unique individual who happens to identify as a trans man.
Seeking out a trans boy because you expect him to have certain preconceived qualities is gross. If you find someone attractive and interesting who happens to be a trans man, great! Thatâs fine! Trans men should be dated, and fucked, and loved! HOWEVER if youâre interested in someone BECAUSE theyâre trans, youâre stereotyping them and seeing them as an idea, not a person. Donât do that.
