Mail call! I was recently thinking about which era that Konami had its peak in, and the 16-bit era is a good one to argue. Legend of the Mystical Ninja isn’t the familiar name that Gradius III or Turtles in Time is, but it’s still a solidly fun time.

Putting this thought out there:

There’s too many video games out there. Many players, especially more casual players, often get overwhelmed by the avalanche of stuff and instead stick to the stuff they know (like Roblox or Fortnite).

Word Search by POWGI is the Switch (2) game that I often defer to while I’m downloading something in the background. Nintendo tells me that I’ve spent over 8 hours finding words. That’s a full work day of nothing but word searching.

“Man, you have a ton of sports video games. Why? They’re such a waste.”

I never really get people to understand why these old, otherwise-unwanted sports games are meaningful to me, other than the “One person’s trash is another’s treasure.”

I have tracks from Sonic R playing in my head. I’m not sure whether this is a good thing, or a cry for help.

Pokémon Puzzle League still scratches that puzzler itch. The (compressed as they may be) sound bites from the animated show make me feel like I’m in my twenties again.

I think I prefer the SNES port of Sunset Riders over the coin-op original, if for no other reason but that the music is somehow far better to me.
