I still don’t like the guy as a person. But I do think his tendency to be a absurd actually helped here.

I’ve always liked the style of lighting a lot of mecha anime has. Been trying to figure out how to replicate it.

It’s one thing if Leto is lacking self awareness during a role that is supposed to be serious. But this is He-Man and friends. It actually works if he acts a bit over the top.

Bonobos still play as adults, while human adults are ashamed of playing. Dolphins get high as a regular pass time, while humans often see altered states as immoral. Gorillas prefer to lounge and socialize, while humans trick themseleves into thinking constant thankless work is ideal. Pretty much all animals aside from humans could not care less if another member of their species is gay. I’m not saying that existing as another species would be easier, but there must be something unimaginably free and librating about not having any constructed social expectations or strictly enforced cultural norms.

He didn’t want to see Sentinel walk free without punishment. He had a an idealized idea of how the situation should be dealt with, all while trying to deal with his closest friend having a massive crash out and becoming a legitimate safety hazard to people within his vicinity.

I think Dark Link as a character doesn’t get explored enough. And I personally prefer a more horror-inspired interpretation, over him being a charismatic bad boy or just Link but evil.
